Thought it deserves its own thread.

Is this $360m inclusive of infrastructure costs? That’s how it reads.

Is it essentially like WA Governments $400m commitment for the same thing?

Only difference is NZ $360m includes start up fees and license fee + all the fat trimmings whilst WA Gov’s $400m+ was strictly for infrastructure on the condition WA got an NRL club?

If so then good stuff. That’s how the cash should be spent if an area/bid are serious about getting a franchise.

Any chance of the Bears trying to work with them?

Nope, all in on WA. Plus Peter Peters is involved with this Orcas bid.

Happy that one of the bids has identified the best streamlined way of funding the initial investment. Although it’s still very much a private model. I like it.

If only the committed WA Gov funding included a similar cost breakdown as far including start up costs as well as infrastructure costs like this proposed Orcas bid….

If the recent report is accurate then it seems like a great choice. The report is obviously coming from the people who want a team though, not from the people that will award a team.
