Or one tier 1 nation and one tier 2 nation for life and you could switch between the two as many times as you like.

Yes, that's what I thought the rule was. If you can still switch sideways it's completely pointless and ridiculous (rather than partially ridiculous)

Wasn't sure where to post this, but cootes comments infuriate me. We are better off without players like him playing internationals for a country as a springboard for an Australian state. I still think stronger laws would be better for our sport, not weaker.

The match will be Coote’s first representative game since playing for City in 2012. He has been on the cusp of NSW selection the past two years and said his international debut could help pave the way to push for interstate selection honours.

“You can make a statement,” Coote said. “We’re coming up against the best teams in the world. If I can perform here then there is no reason why I can’t play Origin. I’ll be coming out giving everything I’ve got.”

It isn't just him, it's how they've been raised listening to all the TV heads.

I'm surprised that Boyd didn't become an Englishman when Bennett signed up.

I see no problem with players wanting to gain origin selection as long as they continue to want to play for a scotland, samoa, lebanon etc..

Ive been calling for it for years

Yeah - infact this is the optimal outcome of all this stupidity in international selections.. the ideal is that players play Origin, but continue to play for a developing nation.

That whole article is shocking. It's like someone briefed him before hand with bullet points on how to belittle Scotland RL as much as possible at an event where he should be promoting them.

  • I've never been to Scotland before.
  • All I know about Scotland is from Braveheart.
  • Most of the squad have English accents.
  • I can't understand when actual Scottish people speak to me.
  • I want to use an international test match to show I am good enough for a state game in Australia.
Sack the Scotland RL media manager and just send Brough, Russell & Scott to the next press conference!
