Bangladesh had made great strides in recent years but it all fell apart today.

funny that, teams sometimes do when they're overmatched - example B, pretty much anyone against Australia in recent times

Bangledesh have just got steadily worse as things have gone on though. It seems that Tammin and Ashraful are the only decent batsmen they've got, once they're gone they're easy pickings.

Well, only some months ago at the World Cup they beat India and made the Super 8's. Yesterday was definitely the low point after they won full international status in 2000.

Ashraful looks like he is about to cry everytime he gets out.....he should really start playing the pull shot along the ground.

Watching McCullum bat was like playing Cricket 07. 466464

Just looked like he was in the zone and could smash it no matter where the ball was bowled.

Real clean striking reminded me of Astle's double ton against England.

Jaysus.

Performances like this from Bangladesh are the reason you wont see Kenya or Canada playing test cricket before 2025.

Perhaps the ICC should stop dumping squillions of dollars into pipe-dreams like the World Cricket League (not the whole thing, but the lower divisions) and look at its premier competitions?

the Bangers are subbies and they have too much influence to change anything

I think you guys are being unfair. It took Sri Lanka 15 or so years to establish themselves, and it's obvious to most of us in NZ that Bangladesh is hugely improved from the last time they were here - Ashraful is a very very classy player, and Tamin the opener looks very good and is just 18. In addition, while they were hammered in Australia, don't forget that NZ remains a very good odi unit (3rd in the world?) so not really a surprise that the series was one sided (we won our home odi series 3-0 last year too :D and one game was a 10 wicket win :D:D). Obviously if an odi side is slightly off, NZ can dominate

Having allowed it to sink in, despite the situation I have to say McCullum's innings is one of the most extraordinary things I've ever seen in cricket

80 off 28 balls is amazing enough, but what's more extraordinary is that the team only batted for 6 overs. As far as I'm aware, no individual has ever scored 80 runs on their own in a 6 over period in an international match, or even come close. I daresay such a thing has hardly, if at all, happened in the entire history of first class cricket, and if it has it was probably one of those situations where a team deliberately bowled crap to encourage a declaration.
