Sharma out.

India to bat first.

Weather looks a little dodgy, as you'd expect in New Zealand.

Left out Irfan Pathan too...

TBH I'd be disappointed if we don't win this series comfortably, and do pretty well in the tests too... I like the look of our team a lot, if the weather is good look for big scores in Napier

Here are the teams:

India: 1 Virender Sehwag, 2 Sachin Tendulkar, 3 Gautam Gambhir, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Suresh Raina, 6 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt/wk), 7 Yusuf Pathan, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Praveen Kumar, 10 Zaheer Khan, 11 Munaf Patel.

New Zealand: 1 Jesse Ryder, 2 Brendon McCullum (wk), 3 Martin Guptill, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Jacob Oram, 6 Neil Broom, 7 Grant Elliott, 8 Daniel Vettori (capt), 9 Kyle Mills, 10 Ian Butler, 11 Iain O'Brien.

Mills missed out on Sehwag; O'Brien not quite able to get in position to take a catch.

Unlucky- we needed that

Rain delay

time to cancel games in NZ

That's never a nice way for any game. Stupid fecking weather. My recommendation? Never play cricket in queensland at all. Should take all their privillages away. Weather alone ruins everything.

But applauds to the groundsmen for doing what they could, the umps to and the players. despite it's reduction it was still game on no matter what and sometimes you can't ask for anything better.

Oh well there's always next time!

Now 20/20 on Sunday should be fun!

From cricinfo:

4.00pm local The players and umpires are having a look at the middle. There's Gary Kirsten walking out to inspect the outfield now. A few of the New Zealanders are out as well. The run-up covers are now being lifted.

3.45pm local The drizzle has stopped. Now begins the hard work for the ground staff. Here comes the Super Sopper. And the umpires are walking out. The skies are still grey though.

Another update from cricinfo:

4.05pm local It has become much brighter now, I'm told, and you can finally see some blue in the sky. The main covers are coming off.
