20 overs gone for both teams and ...

Tie game!

And now they are going into 'overtime' to produce a winner

Foxsports 2 for anyone interested

Each team chooses 3 batsman for the over
And one bowler

Hardly surprising West Indies chose Gayle, Chanderpaul and Marshall

NZ chose Vettori to bowl

Gayle went berserk hitting 25 runs off the over with 3 sixes, a four, a two and a single (on a run out) and a standing ovation

Weird scorecard for a 20/20 game (with two innings that is)

New Zealand 7/155 and 2/15
West Indies 8/155 and 1/25

Taylor needs to learn to consider the entire field instead of constantly trying to hit in just the one area. It's how he was dismissed during the regular 20 overs, it happened again, and it's what the bowler was trying to do when he got the no ball wrong.

Aside from that it was all Gayle with the bat. Outside of Chanderpaul and Gayle the West Indies batting looks very limited. It'll be interesting to see whether or not another batsman can stand up in the ODI matches because those two won't be able to do it on their own.

I like that super over for a tie better than a 'bowl off'. Only way it could be done better is if everyone knows what is going on and it starts within 5-10mins of the completion of the match, rather than the approx 20mins it took tonight.

Vettori saved his worst over for the end. He's on a hiding for nothing really, but he way got his length wrong with not 1 yorker. Easy pickings for Gayle. Good game nonetheless. Entertaining, which is all 20/20 is really.

win or lose, I find it hard to take 20/20 seriously.

Agreed. The more I watch slap and tickle cricket the less I like it. Watched NZ bat because I support NZ and like watching them bat. Once their innings was over I started channel surfing and completely forgot about it until the last 5 overs.

Missed out on what looked like an entertaining innings from Gayle, but wasn't overly concerned.

Harry Potter shouldn't have bowled that last over

should have been one of the quicks imo

After the event probably right, but if the quickie had gotten hit around we would have heard about how Vettori didn't take responsibility and should have been bowling after 3/16 from his 4

so now the styris is out for six weeks with a broken thumb, who do you think should be brought in?

i would love to see broom, even though hes a better first class player (judging by record) http://content-nz.cricinfo.com/newzealand/content/player/36581.html he has a good strike rate though. how just needs to bat in domestic for a while, his duck today shouldnt bring him in the side any faster..

its hard to judge on form because there have only been a couple rounds of one day stuff so far..
