He has an injury which he wants to rest until the UK leg of the series. He's in the squad allright.

The best thing is he WANTS to play in the tests and is severly pissed that he got injured in the semi

he has a calf injury which arose long before the semis started. He carried the injury in the semis.

Ok if his calf is still a problem it all makes sense now. He was obviously struggling with the injury against the Roosters when I think about it so fair enough if he needs to rest it.

J Cayless and Wiki are reliable players at prop. We shouldn't miss Rauhihi too much.

Perry and Rauhihi had a good battle in 2003 in the 2 games they clashed, but overall Rauhihi is the MUCH better player of the two.

The Kiwis have picked an aweful side. I couldn't believe they picked Vinnie Anderson at five eighth ahead of Tony, but at least he's on the bench. Rauhihi would have to be injured to miss out, he's been one fo the best Kiwis in the NRL all year. Betham must be injured too, because he'd be hooker ahead of Louis Anderson I would think. Wiki is better in the backrow than at prop, but to fit the hair bears and Sonny Bill I suppose there's no choice.

The biggest problem is a lack of match fitness. Most of the squad has not played since round 26 and only a handful has played in the past fortnight. It will seven weekd between games for many Kiwis. They should play a warm-up against a Pacific team like the Roos.

Having said all that the Kiwis of last year looked very weak and won by a record score.

Add Vainikolo, Paul, Lauitiiti and maybe Joe Vagana and it'd be a much better side. Shame Swain has retired he's been Hull's best this year and much needed without a proper number 9.

Expect Daniel Anderson to have a shifting side throughout the whole match. Just like last year in Auckland when the side won, this time again Anderson has picked a heap of players 'out of position'.

He does this to counter the Aussies in the opening minutes of a match before then focusing on the rest of the match. Not a bad tactic, for too long NZ tried to win a game in the first half, only to have the Kangaroos come through in the second and knock them off.

Now sure if you look at the Newcastle test it didn't work, but that was compounded by some unfortunately large amount of drop ball right on the try line by guys like Vagana. If that doesn't happen, you cut out most of the points Australia scored in that game, and NZ are in with a chance.
