Nah nothing major. League is secondary to Rugby here, bigtime. Sucks.

It's the same weekend as the NPC Final over here, Auckland Vs. Otago.. So a sell out is about as likely as Covell getting a call up.

Problem is that the game finished after midnight over here and most of the Sunday papers would have already alright been printed by then. I would be more interested to see what is in mondays paper then fridays paper(NZ Herald that is). As for television, its always sh*t so I don't watch it but I would think that there was good coverage since the Kiwis beat the Kangaroos.

As for the Union, free tickets were given away for kids to Saturday nights game. I think the Auckland and NZ unions know that there are issues with crowds at NPC games. I think it would be the same for the final this coming weekend. I don't know too many people that actually give a sh*t about the NPC. It's very boring. Come to think of it, all union is pretty BORING.

Union was lucky this weekend that there was an upset with Otago beating Canterbury which will increase interest.

League got the leading story on both major news networks. It is geting a good run IMO

The worst thing was that (unless I've gone blind) none of the free-to-air channels actually showed the game. That's pretty bloody sad.

I've got a good feeling about Friday night though ... it's been shown before that it's not too hard for a successful League team over here (Warriors or Kiwis) to "capture the imagination" of the masses.

They might even try and push the "say a final farewell to Stacey Jones" angle again, that could be worth an extra few thousand ticket sales.

Either way, I'll be there with bells on!!!!! :D :D

Quite frankly, it would be a disgrace if Ericcson isn't full on Friday. Get to the game all you Aucklanders.

Lets hope the Kiwi fans in Auckland dont run onto the field and start slapping cops like they did last night after the game....
