Yes, but as I said he got stuff done.
So I'll ask the question. Is there anyone in parliament who is both honest and has the courage of their own convictions? I think party membership excludes anyone from the latter unless they are an out & out zealot in which case they are useless anyway.
Party membership means that you give up the right to have your own opinions & convictions because the party machine tells you what to say. Some may express contrary views, usually populist ones, at times but, at the end of the day, they will do what they are told.
