Lomax is under contract they need someone to take on his contract I can't see that happening.
With Hunt they will need to get something for him, just having cash won't do much all quality halves under contract for next year's.
Tigers don't have any in there squad to start the comp next year as Doeuhli will be out.
He could sign Flanno jnr lol

Agree and disagree. The Dolphins documentary highlighted that only 33% of first graders players actually change clubs. Also with a dysfunctional roster they will have to over pay significantly to get players. On the Lomax thing they are saying they will release him if someone takes over the whole 800k which is a big ask.

You can buy well but it takes some luck. We bought Dale (750?), Cam (500) and Nicho (625) in one spending spree. So you can improve things but context around that. Dale is signing his last contract and on the decline. Cam was a value purchase that we got due to offering 4 years. Nicho was unproven utility. We also had a team on the up.

The Dolphins had a full salary cap and struggled to get players and as Gus said it is easier to build from the ground up than rebuilding a broken roster with poor pathways. I think Flanno will do what he does and go sign some vet "safe players" (Townsend, maybe a few fringe Sea Eagles like Brad Parker that sort of thing) and spend next year trying to ensure they are developing/getting the best kids on the south coast. I just don't know if the Dragons have the ability to stay out of his way or wait to see the results. Flanno and Ricky started working on the pathways starting in what 07? We didn't see our 16s/18s/20s really do super until 2015 or so.

Flanno has a habit of getting tried and true players.
Not that I care any about the Stains but Ive thought they’ve been recruiting on the moneyball policy in one aspect and and then probably paid overs for a few of their players.(Hunt,Woods,Debelin (nobody else would’ve touched him at the time,,Bird)Just don’t think they had it right since Bennett left and probably reflected where they’ve ended up.I have no idea on the Flanno/Mooney relationship.They went through that ASADA fiasco together so not sure what the relationships like.It could be a thing that creates a bond.I think Mooneys worked our cap pretty well(better than that other team)and if I’m going in to coach at that joint I’d want the staff I think are the best to manage that.
Can they get any worse?
I actually think the Dolphins have a better first team even now than St George but their problem is depth.
You are right though and St George and the Dolphins might have cash(Tigers and maybe Dogs who are obviously chasing a halfback)may push prices up depending on the availability of them.

We know Flanno loves a veteran a leader.
This will probably not happen, what if he was to come to Fitz and ask to buy last 2 years of Finucane's contract.
He has been a good leader but he certainly not as his best would we be happy for him to leave??
