O/T: Metallica maybe be F-ing awesome, but U2 remain the best show on earth.

Having seen Metallica twice & going to U2 last night - there is no comparison.

Two hours was just not long enough.

As Bono said " I dont wanna leave".

What an atmosphere they bring to a crowd.

Probably why they have lasted 30 years & continue to be listed with The Beatles & The Rolling Stones, as the best of all time.

Yeah it was freakn awesome.

Saw Muse on Friday night and they were just as good live. They'll go all the way as well. The next U2 IMO.

I dont know about Muse, their music is a big repetitive for me. The laser/light show was one of the best shows that I have seen though.

Having said that, it pales into significance of the U2 show.

Didnt I Will Follow get the crowd pumped. Amazing atmosphere. It was going off!

The first two I can understand, but Muse released their first album in September 1999, and 4 albums in the 2000's. Hardly last century.

U2 sure know how to play a concert - they are the ultimate showmen and put on a brilliant gig

Its just a shame that their music is terrible, Bono isnt very strong vocally and their songs boring

pretty sure 1999 was last century

I've seen Metalica and Muse live, they were OK, Muse were followed by Tool which was abit unfair on Muse, they got to see a real band of musicians

and if I want to listen to pop music, I can always log into Kylie or Madonna instead of being thrust into the world of blandness that is U2

Bland - :lol::lol:

Each to their own....
People complained about Metallica chasing the dollars. U2 have been a billion times worse especially Bono and that has come out in their music. It lacks passion massively and Bono is more interested in preaching to everyone how children are dying in Africa and how he is the second coming. I've heard from people who went last night that they played really well Bono let them done heaps. Would have been better with just the crowd singing apparently

Last night how much was Music and how much was Sermon?????

U2 were an awesome band but honestly since Pop i reckon their music bar the odd song has been decidely average. Bono is more concerned with saving the world than writing great music.

LOL.

That mustn't have been Bono who nailed Miss Sarajovo last night and blew everyone away

I dont have a problem at all with Bono preaching.

You go see U2, you know it's going to happen. If you dont like it, dont go. You'd have to be thick not to expect it.

Last night, I loved the imagery on the video screens before Sunday Bloody Sunday

I loved the Bishop Desmond Tutu video message

And, I loved what he said about Burma.

Personally, I just wished there was more of it!

Yep, I think U2 should give up on the "causes" & just spend all of the money they make & take potshots at other artists like so many others do ( insert AC/DC here).

Whoever you heard from, obviously have issues. The note that he hit in Miss Sarajevo being the obvious example.

Considering their age, I hope that I have the same stamina as them, when I hit that age.

I attend a LOT of concerts. (2 x Metallica, Leonard Cohen.I'm going to Linkin Park tomorrow night. I have been to U2 again tonight) IMO, comments from people putting down the efforts of bands like U2 ( let's face it, they are the biggest band of the last generation), seems to be either tall poppy syndrome or people who see only their tastes as being "fresh" or any good.

As I said earlier today - each to their own. But bagging someone for supporting just causes is sad. ( I expect jealousy comes into play or embarrassment from some of the other bands, because they feel guilty on wasting their money)They should hang their heads in shame, but instead, some in the media find their comments worth repeating. So sad. (Sting is another artist attacked for his views)

end rant, end another great night with U2
:D:cool:

Like them or not, U2 are the benchmark when it comes to big bold stadium rock. Daylight second. They were awsome tonight.
