JOHNS - I'm hopeing he will sign on for another year or two for the same sort of money he is on now

TAHU - He has a generous contract now and should play for the same money

KENNEDY - as good as gone, which will free up a lot of money

ENNIS - we will need to get Tom Cruise to 'show him the money'.

BATES - gone - i'll be surprized if he plays next season (make that amazed)

K GIDLEY - big money to keep him, and we have to

NEWTON - It will depend on how he comes back from injury

O DAVIS - G-O-N-E

PARSONS - G-O-N-E

TYRIE - I hope he pulls something out of the bag next season, and I think he will if given a chance, but he might not get too many runs.

WOOLNOUGH - Needs to get Parsons money.

I think we can keep all the ones from that list that we want to keep and still have some change left over to spend on the kids who step up next season.

what do you mean roopy with ennis we will need to get tom cruise to show him the money???

It's a quote from the movie where Tom Cruise plays an agent for sportsmen and his star player shouts down the phone that all he wants Cruise to do is "SHOW ME THE MONEY".

Ennis is good, and he knows he is good. We will have to give him a big, fat check to stay. I think he will be worth it if he can learn to keep his hands to himself.

i was under the impression that Tahu wasnt on that big money - signed for less than what he could have got to stay with the Knights.

In saying that with Kennedy and Parsons likely to finish up next year that should free up substantial money to retain talent and maybe even buy a player or two...

What happens with Johns is a different matter - it has to be unlikely that we spend even more money on him than what he is on now - particularly if he is still playing rep football. This is 2 years in a row we have got poor value out of him at the right end of the season.

He is an outstanding player and a great leader - but we have to have him playing fantastic footy at the end of the season - not at the begining...

i have to say i sort of hope that joey does decide to hang up the boots for rep games....it would prove to be quite good for the knights regular season. i mean there is just so much he can take and it seems that he takes on too much and has not finished the past 2 seasons. i really hope he to decides to stay on for a few more yrs.

kennedy- i think he will hang up his boots at the end of his contract. as good as he is, how much more can his body take as to matt parsons?

dunno thats just my thoughts

Parsons has been quoted saying he wants to go around for another year after his contracts up.

Kennedy will definetely be retiring.

I have a big rap on tahu. He told the club to give him a contract that they think he's worth and he wont argue against it. I'm proud of his loyalty.

JOHNS: I'd say he'll stick around for another year, just to play out his NRL career and be old enough to head over to the UK without wasting his life.

TAHU: If what's being said is true, it'll be no surprise to see him stay.

KENNEDY: I'm a big fan, but if he retires/leaves, it'll free up some cap space.

ENNIS: Would love to see him stay, as I've heard big raps on him. But as people point out, I doubt he will. Although Parso and Kennedy leaving and a bench spot may placate him for a while.

BATES: Eh, don't care either way.

K GIDLEY: The obvious replacement for Joey. He's a talent.

NEWTON: Hope he sticks around, but not fussed either way.

O DAVIS: OLD. Was hoping he'd go this year. He's a great player, but his time is passed.

PARSONS: Big fan (I got his sig today), but he's getting on too. Not enough fitness. Wouldn't mind seeing him go. Although if he stays, that's cool.

TYIRE: I'd say he'll go to get out from behind a few stars' shadows.

WOULGNOUGH: Hold onto him if we can, he's a great player.

JOHNS: Needs to wake up and realise england should be as much of an option of playing for, as 1st division in Australia. Hopefully will stayas long as possible

TAHU: I'm confident he'll stay

KENNEDY: He'll retire and free up 300K a year

ENNIS: Good player, but likely to go IMO

BATES: From what I saw of him in 1st division he went pretty well. Hopefully if he goes well next season, we'll resign him.

K GIDLEY: Needs to be signed, a future rep player IMO

NEWTON: Whatever happens happens. Not overly concerned

O DAVIS: See how he goes this year. He'll most likely retire though

PARSONS: He missed alot of football this year. It might have been enough to ensure he'll get another year of football.

TYIRE: If he doesn't pick up his form, then I'd like to see us bring another half in 1st division.

WOULGNOUGH: Needs to be resigned.

I assume you mean Maddison? he showed up for about two and a half games, did sod all, and dissapeared. About what I expected from him when I heard we'd signed him, what a waste of space that was.

By the end of the season Bates was on the bench in premier League. He and Tyrie had no combination at all. He did a fair amount of the tactical kicking early in the season, but by the end of the year it was basically Ennis and Tyrie doing the kicking.

I think he will be cut for sure. If Witt doesn't take his place, Brad 'the shadow' Wallace will get a run, or young Chad Solman might be promoted to add some running power to the backline, but whatever happens, Bates will be looking for a real NRL club to give him a run.

I watched Bates in quite a few Premier league games, and I thought he was going pretty well, better than Tyrie at any rate, I'd be sorry to see him get cut. Just because he had no combination with Tyrie wouldn't be a reason to cut him I would've thought, from what I saw I'd rather see Tyrie cut if we are going on form from last year.

Fair call.
I only like Tyrie because I know he can do better, but Bates was once NSW under 17 captain, so he must have something to offer as well.
I would think there is every chance both will be cut, along with most of the backline from Premier League. The only two i'd keep for sure would be Young and Gavin Quinn, and most people would cut Quinn as well.

I too had wraps on Tyrie, but his last season was woefull, I don't know if it was being overlooked in favour of Kidley as Johns understudy, (I do know from reliable sources that he was virtually promised that role when he knocked back the Roosters offer last season) But he started the season poorly, and really didn't improve much all year, where-as Bates as you said was doing all the tactical kicking, and doing it well I might add, Bates demise seemed to coincide with the arrival of Amos, (I heard Amos quit because he was sick of Being "USED" all over the place), if that's true well I'm not sorry he went. Bates IMO has a bit to offer this club, he has a good football brain from the bit I've seen of him.

From a few of the games I saw bates at 5/8, I thought he played well. I was shocked when he was dropped to the bench. He was a good organiser. He had a good passing game and took alot of right options. He was also very good at putting players threw holes.

I'm not surprised that he and tyrie didn't have a good combination. Tyrie is the biggest hog that I've ever seen as a halfback. I'd like to see us release him and then we could buy a genuin halfback.
