They'll be well into the ice-cold Kingfisher Lagers by now. It'll never taste better.

It is our most impressive test series win, and I don't say that lightly.

1985/86 we beat Australia home and away, but the inexperienced Aussies couldn't handle a rampaging RJ Hadlee. 1979/80 the Windies were surly and IVA Richards didn't tour. Etc, etc.

India were at full strength here and at home. A remarkable result.

How amazing is Phillips to watch, he isn’t born and bred here, but gives absolutely every ounce he has every second of the game, never wants a rest and doesn’t want to go and make 3 times the money all around the world
He came here very young ( 4 or 5) learned his cricket here. Saw a lot of him
In school boy cricket, always a special talent

It’s amazing, I said elsewhere disappointing that they don’t use Ajaz more, he’s a good bowler

He has a really good record, staggering the plod they’ve selected ahead of him at home… most wickets at one away venue by anyone too, 25 at Wankhede
Hopefully this series might change some direction in NZ and we give the directive to the groundsman to bring the spinners into play rather than just green seamers being produced

We seem to be stuck in the 1980s with this 'seamer'- mentality. We've always had good spinners, who can (and have) spun us to victory both at home and away.

The cicadas are going off here in the Blue Mountains, it's cricket season for sure. How's Hagley Park looking? As a fellow cricket retiree you must drive past sometimes with a heavy heart?!

actually close to the joint most weekends with my young fellas summer sport

Tbh Hagley Oval will always be a mixed thing for me, sure it’s a great facility, but it could have been a great facility anywhere. The old Hagley Oval was the heart of club cricket, and that heart being ripped out has decimated club cricket, promises made at that time from Germon and the council never came to fruition, I heard some of them first hand as I was part of the process, and 2 clubs that were based there for well over 100 years are really struggling, Riccarton moved years ago and there was an article last week about how they are nearly going under, and St Albans held firm but have been told when the lease expires on the clubrooms in a couple of years they are no chance of getting it

Is someone had said we would win 3-0 in India a month ago, i would have rang the men in white coats to come get them.
I'd probably have done that if someone had said we'd win even just one test there. Especially after 0-2 v Sri Lanka and Williamson getting ruled out.

This really does make the Halberg team of the year award interesting because normally gold medalists are a shoe-in during Olympic cycles and until now, I thought TNZ would be worthy winners too. But being the first to ever win 3-0 in India... that's gotta be tops.

For someone who doesn’t follow anything about league except NRL games themselves, and having just seen a spine-tingling Shaun Johnson highlight from the olden days, do we have any local halves coming through with skills/potential like he had?

And in the next “these blokes are brain dead” story

AJ Brimson won $10k on the Melbourne Cup, loaded his bet slip up to social media, and hasn’t fully obscured the 2 previous punts had been on rugby league games haha. He is saying the photo is of his mums account lol
