Actually feel bad for Latrell. A couple of the Koori lads I work with are close with him and I know his fitness and attitude improvement in the offseason has been genuine- it’s a real kick in the guts to post the first two months of footy like that.

Yeah, it must be demoralising to go through the toll Souths have already suffered. Cam Murray is the heart of that side and he's out for the season, Latrell is their main influencer of the scoreboard and he's out for a long while, reports are that Schuster isn't going to be a guy they can rely on to be in their XVII, Campbell Graham is in doubt, it's not good.

I always hear 'Bennett can perform miracles' but he didn't at the Phins with a decent, if not outrageously good roster.

Is also talk with Souths having a potentially destabilising situation going on with Cody Walker off contract and it maybe heading down the Adam Reynolds path

Trials don't really seem worth rolling out your stars, but would probably just delay the injury as it's about getting match fit.
Yeah I turned my nose up at Ricky Stuart saying he hated trials and would rather not have them, and I kinda understand.

Roosters will feel the same - Spencer Leniu out for 2 weeks suspended. I reckon they're going to be the big flops this year.

Really interesting situation ongoing at the moment

Karl Oloapu who was highly rated coming through missed all of last season with a neck injury. The Bulldogs have yesterday released him saying that they have advice from multiple surgeons that his neck can’t withstand training, let alone playing, and any knock could be catastrophic

Oloapu and his manager disagree, and with the blessing of the RLPA, are chasing a deal with other clubs, Dolphins seem to be top of the list

Would have to be some pretty serious clauses signed to safeguard the club and nrl is any contract. What I find staggering is the support from the flog Clint Newton from the RLPA, meant to be all about player welfare, so if there is any truth to the Dogs reports he shouldn’t be near a public statement like that, and if he has the info that the Dogs aren’t being completely honest, he should be commenting in regards to that

Yeah I saw that - the kid needs better advice if true...
