Man of Steel eyeing Down Under

JAMES Graham, the best prop in English Super League, has put NRL clubs on red alert by signing with one of Australia's leading management companies.
Amid frenzied speculation Graham was to join England teammates Gareth Ellis and Sam Burgess in the NRL as early as next season, The Australian has learned the former Man of Steel has signed with Titan Management, the company that orchestrated the code switches of Karmichael Hunt and Israel Folau.
Graham's existing contract runs until the end of next season and St Helens officials, who announced the signing of Manly prop Josh Perry on Tuesday, insist the red-headed forward is going nowhere. If he can't negotiate a release from that deal, he appears certain to follow Burgess and Ellis to Australia in 2012.
The Sydney Roosters and Canberra have already been linked with Graham and Raiders chief executive Don Furner yesterday acknowledged his club would be interested should he leave Saints.
"Obviously, we would be interested in him if he decides to come to the NRL," Furner said.
"He's been on our radar for some time. He's a quality player and the success of Gareth Ellis and Sam Burgess has shown English players can be a success in the NRL. Graham is as close to a sure thing as you can get."
Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell, whose club has benefited from signing Ellis, added: "He's a good footballer. He's got a lot of go-forward in him, he's a tough kid, he's played plenty of Test football and he has a good offload. He's got everything going for him."
Graham has already tasted success in Australia. In 2004 he captained the England Academy to its first series win on Australian soil, beating a Junior Kangaroos side which included Greg Inglis and Jarrod Mullen.
This article is from June, in the meantime Canberra have signed Brett White, but going off this he is obviously on the Tigers radar.
