yeah, the coaching staff believe that it was in his best interest to have him develop his skills against men.

Hopefully Joe will make it, Awesome skill.

He's another one to come through from the GF winning Harold Mathews of 2004.

Thanks Stagger, just interesting you go from NYC to Park Footy, he could have learnt in the NSW Cup too, i guess there are just more experienced guys there.

Hopefully we see him up in NSW Cup soon, i think he has alot to offer.

Marty Lewis hasn't been talked about much lately, he was outstanding last year and the Penrith trial i thought he was one of the best on field, know any reason why the fall from grace from him?

Adam Shaw anyone?

Played for Manly in the NSW Cup in the past. Seems to be a youngster who played at some stage with Anthony Mitchell. Anyone know anything more about him?

Well Oake got a go in the trials but not Lewis, imo Lewis is a better alternative but didn't seem to get a go, he was such an integral part of the NYC side last year.

I hope he gets a go this year if form warrants it.

The team for NZ: Daniel Anderson interview

10 Mar 09 @ 06:31pm by BRENTON CHERRY

DANIEL Anderson joked last week that NRL chief David Gallop had “stitched him up” with the draw for round one which sees the Eels clash with the Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland on Saturday.
But, who better to take on the highly fancied New Zealand outfit than a side led by their former coach, one who took them to the grand final in 2002.
“It is going to be a very special moment for me as it is my first game as the Parramatta coach,” Anderson said.
“David Gallop has stitched me up with the draw, going back to the Warriors, but it will be very nice to see some mates I have over there.”
In his time at the Warriors Anderson turned them into one of the most dangerous attacking sides in the competition.
Already Anderson has moved to shake things up at the Eels, who finished a disappointing 11th last year after narrowly missing the grand final in 2007.
The highest profile change has seen the talented Jarryd Hayne moved to five-eighth.
In the Eels’ three trial matches Hayne has shown enough for Anderson to indicate he will be given time to settle in the position.
“I thought Jarryd played very well against the Roosters and got the rewards for the effort he put in,” Anderson said.
“He showed he is becoming more settled and more comfortable in that role.”
Hayne’s move to pivot sees Feleti Mateo return to lock which should see him afforded more opportunity to run at opposition defenses.
Another significant change at the Eels has seen the return of Eric Grothe, who fell out of favour under former coach Michael Hagan.
Grothe will line up on the wing against the Warriors in what will be his 100th first grade match. Joel Reddy is the other winger.
However, out of everything happening at the Eels, Anderson said the return of the hard-working Ben Smith at centre was the most exciting.
“I really hope Ben plays the majority of matches this year,” Anderson said.
“He has trained exceptionally and he adds a huge dimension to the team so if he plays 20-plus games then Parramatta is going to benefit.”
With exciting Krisnan Inu named at number four, the Eels have a back-line capable of blasting a game wide open.
“There is not too much that is of concern so we just have to prepare diligently for a very, very good team in the Warriors who performed well in the trials and have done well in recruitment,” Anderson said.
Eels teams to play the Warriors:

First grade: 1. Luke Burt, 2. Joel Reddy, 3. Ben Smith, 4. Krisnan Inu, 5. Eric Grothe, 6. Jarryd Hayne, 7. Brett Finch, 8. Nathan Cayless (C), 9. Matt Keating, 10. Josh Cordoba, 11. Nathan Hindmarsh, 12. Well Hauraki, 13. Feleti Mateo. Reserves: Kris Keating, Todd Lowrie, Tim Mannah, Fuifui Moimoi, Taulima Tautai, Joe Galuvao.

Toyota Cup: 1. Domenic Nasso, 2. Shaun Cox, 3. Brad Graham, 4. Taniela Lasalo, 5. David Thomas, 6. Albert Kelly, 7. Daniel Mortimer (C), 8. Kene Te Whata, 9. Anthony Mitchell, 10. Mitchel Johnson, 11. Tim Auremi, 12. Rulon Nutira, 13. Jason Baiteri. Reserves: Joel Latham, Ellis James, Royce Hura, Boyd Brown, Lachlan Gowland.

MITS, the NRL bought a solution called StayinFront as a standard platform for the entire league, although the clubs get the option of whether or not to use it or not. It's a web-based solution and from what I read came about as a result of an extensive consulting analysis.

I don't really get the benefit that a league-wide database brings. It stops clubs from innovating and working out what's best for their membership. Stayinfront doesn't look to be very easily customised and would appear to have a far steeper training curve, which is no good for decentralised structures. CRMs are absolute necessities to run a club today but they should have just organised a Salesforce.com license across the league and then let the clubs pick and choose the modules they wanted to add.

Put it simply, I don't know why they can't get CRM right. I have worked in IT and for companies with Mass mail outs and never had the problems we have seen with CRM. I guess because the CRM is part Web based Mail-out solution, Part Season Ticket allocator, part global database of league fans, that the developers haven't gotten right, but I would have though the NRL could have gotten a piece of software from another league that could do the job, without all the "in house" developing I hear the CRM needs.

I know Ross was not completely impressed with CRM when he took it over this year, this might be the straw that breaks the camels back though.

Also for Strider's and Fish's benefit, I believe CRM is a web based application, run on a web-server. There are many OS's that can run on X86 technologies that could be the back end platform. Or indeed it could be Windows Server 2003. If that is the case then fault detection might be surprisingly easy.
