Some nice ball work from Peni there as he puts Allgood through a hole on the try line. The outside defenders for Newcastle had over read the play, pushing up too quickly and Allgood had no one in front of him.

Hunt had a good go at stopping him but went to high which allowed Chanel to burrow under after the initial contact.

Dubious call in Newcastle's benefit there as a ball is lost in tackle and almost certainly travels forwards but the ref rules it backwards.

Newcastle capitalise on the quick play-the-ball from the clean up run and chip it to Goodall's wing on the next play.

He decides to let Mantalleto take the ball and wrap him up after but the lanky winger is able to roll through the tackle and get the ball down.

Mantalleto converts his own try.

Allgood, like Alvaro before him, shows some good hustle to clean up a chip kick from the Knights.

A great kick chase and tackle from Howard traps the Knights on their goal line. Good, no nonsense set from Wenty.

Newcastle struggle for metres this set and look for a chip kick again but Goodall is awake to the play and cleans it up quickly.

Kelly looks for a field goal to take the thirteen point lead but the kick is shanked and the Knights come back for a 20m restart.

The Knights desperately attack Wenty's left edge but Pewhairangi, Toutai and Goodall communicate well and shut the play down.

There is a questionable pass from Newcastle on their last tackle and their winger ends up bombing it back towards the posts where Goodall is on hand to clean it up.

Paulo rumbles up midfield with another bullocking right, trampling over a Newcastle defender before Kelly calls for the ball behind the ruck.

He runs the ball and telegraphs a chip kick for Hunt who takes the perfectly weighted kick on the fly, Hunt has Pewhairangi pushing up in support and simply draws the final defender before putting Api away.

Kelly make it 50 points on the day with his conversion as the full time siren signals an ends to the game.

Despite the lapse before half time it was a good showing from Wenty which included some superb individual efforts from Junior Paulo, Fabian Goodall, Luke Kelly, Taniela Lasalo, Justin Hunt and Vai Toutai.

Junior Paulo was monstrous in the middle after missing out on the test match last night. I can barely recall a run where he didn't trample or throw a Newcastle defender away.

Fabian Goodall did just about everything right in his senior debut and will surely come into consideration for selection in the NSW Cup next week.
