I though Jones was the rangy lad...Wasn't Mossop the bloke with not much hair???

Yeh, that's him Pete. He's got one of those deceptive builds. So much so that deceives scales such that weighs anything between 102 and 110kgs.

He runs hard and seems to have pretty decent footwork, so could be pretty useful. He seemed to have maybe about 40 mins on the field today?

Yeah I watched it. Thought he played well. Not a bad side actually...

Mossop look good.

I reckon we need to keep Alvaro , he looks good, looks to have a offload in him and doesn't mind the hard hit ups. I reckon he just needs time to develop

Agree on Alvaro. He looked the most impressive for me yesterday.

To any of those 'in the know' where does he sit in the pecking order? Is he a chance to play firsts anytime soon? And what's his contract status?

Thanks in advance.

Mossop looked classy out there and popped a great pass for Hunt in the second half. I was also impressed with Alvaro.

They were the two standout forwards for mine too.

The biggest disappointment in that game was Joseph Ualesi. Very little involvement and missed some terrible attempted tackles which led to tries and brought the Cutters back into it, which nearly won them the game.

Very disappointed in his game.

Very disappointed in his game.

The points did come down his side but Luke Kelly missed all the tackles I think.

Ualesi did make a break of a penalty tap and would've got a very clever ball onto Hunt? I think if it weren't for a finger scrape touch by one of the cutters. Besides that hi-point I thought he made good metres and was at least a pass mark. NB that he wasn't as effective when the no name props from our side were on but was making the metres again when Fui and Lasalo were on.

I didnt catch all the first half so I missed Mossop's stint, the second however was less than Alvaro's for mine.

The bolded players could play NRL if needed. Obviously Fui & Mossop were far better than the grade they played. I expect that one of them could take Allgoods spot next game or Darcy, if he gets suspended.

Thanks ME (and one of your serious posts too). Just saw he's been named in FG. Assume that means Tonga's the one who's injured.

Maybe these guys are being promoted for the big games due too BA and the parra club wanting the other parra side to try and win Minor premiership.
Perhaps they think our under 20's are good enough to beat Penrith with there side they put in and even if did loss its to a penrith under 20's team sitting 9th or 10th.

Could be a lot of things. Could also have been due to having to offer upgrades this year in order to beat offers from rival clubs for these under 20s players. If they've been upgraded to NRL second tier values (about $80k each where they would have previously been on about $20k) that would blow out the NYC salary cap ($250k for the top 20 NYC players) so they may no longer be eligible for the under 20s because they're earning too much.

I dont think its too complicated, he just wants to see how they go against the big boys.

Yeah that is most likely.

I understand Pritchard, Goodall and Matterson (club option) were already contracted for next year, so there would have been no need to upgrade them anyway.

Cartwright (Penrith) and Moses (Wests) are two other under 20s stars regularly playing NSW Cup.
