We only know that Iosefa has joined Wenty. That doesn't mean he's signed with the Eels.

I'd play Pritchard before Masada Iosefa.

I'm with casp on this, he's a first grader he's just gots a shit merkin attitude...

I asked a parra source about tonight and they're watching him very carefully the source reckons he's Liam foran and Ben jones in one...

Wenty have 3 guys at the club that should be in full time squads, Ioseffa, Pat Matale and Matt Mulchay...

Sandow defending @ 9 is a massive risk and dilemma. Assuming his defense remains the same (hoping it has improved heaps), as an armchair coach and when the opportunity presents from the ruck, it would not be hard to isolate Sandow with three forwards running three different lines to create the space for either of two strike players to hit Sandow on either side of his shoulders, and from there, progress down-field or barge over the tryline.

Using three angled runners, there is obviously more than a dozen different types of moves that could be used to isolate Sandow anywhere on the field bar fullback which requires a few simple kicks to f**k him up. For us to do really well in the premiership, particularly in the big tight pressurised games, we need Sandow to improve his defense immensely, this means he needs to get close to the Toovey mould.

We can only hide Sandow on the park for so long but it won't be hard for smart players like DCE to rout him out.

Iosefa is a much much much better 9 than Sandow will ever be.

I suppose he did have his best season (as in, most appearances) in the year Penrith finished second on the ladder. He can certainly run the ball.

But he's been around since '08 and the only time he's made more than nine appearances was in 2010.

If Iosefa finally fulfills his potential he will be hard to keep out of the 9 or 14 position for many years to come. He can hit very hard in defense, has great speed from start to go and can bust the line with his robust size. He could be something like a Brad Drew 2001. If only he can get his marbles in place.

He's had a really f**ked attitude Poo.

If Brad Arthur can inspire/shock him out of this mental rut he potentially could be one of the huge surprise packets of the 2014 season.....
Unfortunately it all comes down to.......
if, if, if, if, if and will he, will he, will he, will he.....
f**k I hate wasted talent.
Wake up you beerhunter.

But a hooker needs to be a good defender. A halfback doesn't (although it helps).

Iosefa's stats from this year:

R4: 18 minutes, 3 runs (11m), 13 tackles, 3 ineffective, 1 missed, 2 penalties

R13: 73 minutes, 5 runs (30m), 1 offload, 1 error, 55 tackles, 2 one-on-one, 1 ineffective, 7 missed

R14: 80 minutes, 5 runs (30m), 2 errors, 56 tackles, 1 one-on-one, 9 ineffective, 1 missed, 2 penalties

R15: 33 minutes, 4 runs (35m), 17 tackles, 1 ineffective, 2 missed, 2 penalties

R23: 34 minutes, 0 runs, 24 tackles, 7 missed

Yep, describes a f**ked attitude.
Willing to be coached and working to a game plan (has had many issues with this in the NRL) he can do much better than Sandow.
The Tigers 2013 defense was consistently pretty f**ked all over the park Poo.
Maybe BA can fix this. Again........

Play-the-balls were at their fastest ever in 2001. People complained the game looked like touch footy (except there was no risk in running from dummy half) so they changed the rules and people like Brad Drew (and Adam Dykes) were rendered ineffective.

Don't compare 2001 to 2014. The points per game record of 2001 has never been broken and probably never will. The game is completely different, which is why the best teams no longer use a combination of two 40 minute hookers.

My point about Sandow is that he would be shit at hooker because he's a poor defender. Iosefa would be little better in defence, and not as good in attack.

We are speculating here, and I agree with your views to a point because Iosefa can attack. If you saw him at Penrith he was regularly destroying opposition defenses. He just needs to mature between the ears to perform successfully and consistently at the NRL level.

Agreed about the difference between 2001 and 2014 but with the two man ruck and the 10 meter rule good robust hookers with speed can cause lots of damage off fast play the balls against a retreating defensive line. This is where Iosefa shined and he can kick too.

This year or next, we now have young, fast and powerful forwards with ball skills to provide fast play the balls and second phase plays, just what Iosefa loves to lap up.

Am keen to see what Peats can do in attack.

It's possible BA is trying to groom Iosefa as a 14 who can cover 9 and 7 and 6 if injuries occurred.

From what Ive seen Iosefa will get game time before Pritchard.Perhaps by the end of year Pritchard may mature but im not sure he will make first grade.Looks small indesicive, a bit like the hooker penrith bought from warriors gun under 20s team who became nothing a year or two ago-Forget his name??
