Yep we got the first set of the half and then there were something like 5 back to back tries for the Jets.

Anyway, Newtown kick it dead from their own half to give Wenty another reprieve with a 20m restart.

Harrison feeds a nice offload to Blair who breaks through, Blair links up with Smith (?) who then hits Api with a pass to put him over out wide on our left.

Wenty finally pin one back to stop the flood.

Mullaney still can't find any extras.

Wenty are most definitely back in this as they trail 16-62

Wenty get back to back penalties to park themselves in Newtown's red zone. Blair backs himself down the our right but the Jets mark him well and force him into touch metres out from their line.

Newtown scrum 10m from their line.

Mullaney must have got some glue on his hands at half time as he manages to hold on to a bomb and then counter attack. He earns a penalty in the ruck, giving Wenty a chance to attack.

A strong run to Terepo (?) gives Smith a fast play the ball, Smith takes advantage and forces his way over from dummy half against the goal pads.

Mullaney finally adds the extras.

Wenty on the comeback trail here folks (that is sarcasm folks :p) as they peg another 6 points back.

Jets lead 62-22

Rokolati spills the fifth tackle bomb into MacKenzie. Wenty work it out from their 20m line. Mullaney spills a tough inside ball on the halfway line and Newtown are right back on the attack.

Wenty regather a loose offload by Newtown and work it down our left side. Api pushes through half a gap but his offload goes astray and is ruled forwards.

Newtown have the scrum feed but the full time whistle blows before it can be packed.

Full Time

Newtown 62 df Wenty 22

I don't know what is more brutal, the game, the sun or the walk back to the station.

Not a great day by any measure, hopefully we fare better in the other two matches

PS - Apologies to Stagger and IBB&G...I'm not a recluse, I was going to say hello today (assuming you guys could deal with my ugly mug) but I got caught up with the updates.

Where do you guys usually sit? I parked myself behind the Wenty bench and copped the full brunt of the sun like a mad merkin. The Newtown supporters were hilarious as well, you rarely hear fans giving the ref such a pasting when their team is up by 50 points.
