The ratings mean jack ****. It was just a practice game. What are they going to talk about with any depth? The bledisloe Cup game at least is a match of some value.

The game was so unimportant. It was farmed off to Perth. Sports fans from Perth are so grateful for any national game, they even went to that. Even the half AFL/Gaelic football gets a good crowd from there, when fans from Melbourne and other footy cities don't GAF.

You can't sit there and piss and moan about the lack of attention RL gets on that show. Then not GAF that motogp didn't get a mention, when it's something a national broadcaster would be expected to mention. Motogp is a bigger comp, a bigger industry, bigger worldwide presence than NRL/ESL/4N put together. It was actually happening in Australia ON THE DAY of the show. It did not get a mention.
Thanks for confirming your a fumbleball fan, but we already knew.

Yet the Aus broadcaster Channel 10 shunted the Moto GP to One to show the Gold Coast V8s on the main channel..

The digital age has unfortunately brought with it trolling culture.

This has crossed over into older forms of media like Television. Presenters, Shows and entire Networks pander to their core audience and seek to agitate the rest. Old fashions notions like professionalism and a broad scope of knowledge are like relics of a bygone era. You will not find these things on 'Offsiders'.

Trolling is SOP for a show based in Victoria, which has probably the most warped sporting culture in the world. The whopping picture of the MCG is a dead giveaway.

Don't watch it, don't discuss it and pay it no mind at all. When you argue with trolls, they win. When you reason with trolls, they win. May as well delete the thread.

The Bloodyslow was a dead rubber in NZ you trolling Tithead, the ratings once again showed how little it meant to the people of Australia especially when compared to the practice match in Perth. Next you will be telling us RL should be played in 4 quarters.

Apart from ABC journos, private school dons and their best boys, The Rah and Peter Bandanahead, who exactly does the Bloodyslow "matter" to in Australia?

You guys take the show too seriously. Previously, it would be Barry's only outlet to talk sport. So in that case you can see why it'd be light on rl, even if you guys don't like that. In the case of Gerard, he's like that anyway.

The only time you guys hear of Gerard during the footy seasons is on this show. But I also listen to him when the does sports segments on radio down here. He's similiar when there are other sports/events/moments that are topical, but he either doesn't like or understand it. He doesn't give it the attention you'd expect.

Yet the Aus broadcaster Channel 10 shunted the Moto GP to One to show the Gold Coast V8s on the main channel..

Moving it to ONE isn't as big a deal as it was a few years ago. But I see why 10 made a commercial decision. However if 10 was a single channel. It'd be the V8s that would get the delayed coverage, while motogp wiulkd be shown live. That, or the V8 organisers would be asked to have the race earlier so they could at least cover the motogp race live, but the moto 2&3 would be shown later. They probably would even try to organise to have the two events on separate weekends in the year before respective schedule were released.

But even then. If you had a blank canvas for last weekend's show, and were to give relevant topics time. Then you'd talk about motogp over v8s. While the tournament as a whole isn't huge. You'd also be talking about the matador cup final, which was also on Sunday and didn't get a mention. But you guys don't seem so upset about that.

I have one question;

Who the f**k is Gerard?

Honestly, if I knew who he was based on what I've read in this thread, I'd curl up into the foetal position and cry like a newborn until the 9's.

In regard to the show itself, just don't watch it, ever. If you do you'll end up waffling on about f**king Gerards as though they're relevant. Like this dickhead. ^^

It's on a national broadcaster,a national show supposedly for All Australians off different tastes. The show's executive producer is a self admitted fumbler fan.The show is supposed to be unbiased. It's about as balanced as a mudslide in Nepal.

Any time my taxpayer's money is utilised,I take it seriously.Any one with a bee's dick of intelligence wants to know their money is well spent and not heavily weighted in one direction.
The trouble with many of you myopic, insular Victorians, you live in this giant State enclosed bubble blown up by a boot licking AFL media ,This same media convey to their captive gullible readers/audience,barely nothing worthwhile exists sports wise ,outside their little fiefdom.

Whilst ever they adopt these insular views, they will never have the need for a passport for their backyard sport's participants.

Well, unfortunately it's my taxpayers dollars being spent to produce a nationally broadcast show so i think some of us are entitled to comment about the lack of coverage for what is the premier sport of half the country...

Happy to agree with that, it's a waste of money and based on what I've read here, an AFL love-in.

Don't bother emailing the government asking for a refund, they ignored me, the bastards.

I just stop watching if I don't like a show. Not sure watching something just to be able to complain about it helps. It's catch 22.

Everything went downhill fast after Chippy passed away. Apart from the odd snippet from Roy (If I knew he was on beforehand, I'd watch), there's no one either game to go on these type of shows regularly or allowed to go on regularly.

I'll say it once more, despite Chippy Frilingos being a News employee, the guy loved the game.He was balanced praised ,players when they deserved it, decried dickheads when they carried on like they were on a Phuket bender.
He commented on the games as someone who knew the rules and was a listener as well as an informer.
He served it up to Bandana head FitzSimons (worth the price of admission ) on the Back Page.

Gibbo was another who was fun to listen to ,knew the game, an educated Ocker.
Both sorely missed.

Now we get lumbered with fumble ball central the Fluffsiders, and the heir apparent new Back Page with a litany of fumble ball sycophants.

The question I ask. What the hell have rugby league fans done wrong, to be rewarded(LOL) with this current
menu of fumbler boot lickers.?

Didn't see it but heard from a friend, that they did a whole show on the ponies last week in the lead upto the Melbourne cup, thats a promotion in my opinion. I thought gambling ruined lives? This show is the pits, it's an embarrassment and does not reflect the qualities of fairness and balance in programming that the ABC would have us believe they are the guardians of.

They do it every year on the Sunday before the Melbourne Cup. They froth over all the horses and tell us all which ones can win and why and about how awesome racing is, yada yada yada....

I caught the last 2 minutes of the show last Sunday and of course, not one of the panel mentioned yesterday's Cup winner in any of their 1st, 2nd and 3rd predicitons.... so they's all as clueless as every other punter out there despite the devtion they have to "the great race"...
