Thanks for confirming your a fumbleball fan, but we already knew. The ratings mean jack ****. It was just a practice game. What are they going to talk about with any depth? The bledisloe Cup game at least is a match of some value.
The game was so unimportant. It was farmed off to Perth. Sports fans from Perth are so grateful for any national game, they even went to that. Even the half AFL/Gaelic football gets a good crowd from there, when fans from Melbourne and other footy cities don't GAF.
You can't sit there and piss and moan about the lack of attention RL gets on that show. Then not GAF that motogp didn't get a mention, when it's something a national broadcaster would be expected to mention. Motogp is a bigger comp, a bigger industry, bigger worldwide presence than NRL/ESL/4N put together. It was actually happening in Australia ON THE DAY of the show. It did not get a mention.

The Bloodyslow was a dead rubber in NZ you trolling Tithead, the ratings once again showed how little it meant to the people of Australia especially when compared to the practice match in Perth. Next you will be telling us RL should be played in 4 quarters. The ratings mean jack ****. It was just a practice game. What are they going to talk about with any depth? Yet the Aus broadcaster Channel 10 shunted the Moto GP to One to show the Gold Coast V8s on the main channel..
You guys take the show too seriously. Previously, it would be Barry's only outlet to talk sport. So in that case you can see why it'd be light on rl, even if you guys don't like that. In the case of Gerard, he's like that anyway.
The only time you guys hear of Gerard during the footy seasons is on this show. But I also listen to him when the does sports segments on radio down here. He's similiar when there are other sports/events/moments that are topical, but he either doesn't like or understand it. He doesn't give it the attention you'd expect.
Moving it to ONE isn't as big a deal as it was a few years ago. But I see why 10 made a commercial decision. However if 10 was a single channel. It'd be the V8s that would get the delayed coverage, while motogp wiulkd be shown live. That, or the V8 organisers would be asked to have the race earlier so they could at least cover the motogp race live, but the moto 2&3 would be shown later. They probably would even try to organise to have the two events on separate weekends in the year before respective schedule were released.
But even then. If you had a blank canvas for last weekend's show, and were to give relevant topics time. Then you'd talk about motogp over v8s. While the tournament as a whole isn't huge. You'd also be talking about the matador cup final, which was also on Sunday and didn't get a mention. But you guys don't seem so upset about that.
Well, unfortunately it's my taxpayers dollars being spent to produce a nationally broadcast show so i think some of us are entitled to comment about the lack of coverage for what is the premier sport of half the country...
Didn't see it but heard from a friend, that they did a whole show on the ponies last week in the lead upto the Melbourne cup, thats a promotion in my opinion. I thought gambling ruined lives? This show is the pits, it's an embarrassment and does not reflect the qualities of fairness and balance in programming that the ABC would have us believe they are the guardians of.
