Not only Massoud, but Richard Behinds(sic) also gave the Cup a decent wrap, citing the passion and colour and stating 14 teams was great to get the variety.
Underwood the AFL bootlicker looking for a rl negative"but how can the RLWC sustain a 5 week tournament.?"
Massoud actually got stuck into the Police for making a PR face saving announcement , that there is nothing to see re drugs/etc,agian on the eve of the RLWC,which distracted from the Opening game>He cited the similar PR stunt prior to the SOO last year by the police.

I noticed her trying to derail the positivity. Why the hell would it not sustain and be a success like the last couple of world cups Kelly? Why would the Islander communities in Australia and NZ not get behind Tonga and Samoa? Why would PNG (a RL mad country) not go nuts for their national team playing at home? Why would a confident England side and a dangerous 'nothing to lose' Kiwi side not maintain interest? Why would the story of Lebanon not engage the Lebanese community and be a fairytale story as they make a run for the quarter finals?

She is so smug - this world cup has so many feel good stories for the game and she can't cop it that the AFL can't produce a tournament like this. Oh and BTW, I didn't hear her mention her favourite topic - women's sport - the RLWC also features a women's event - not one word from her on that.

I had to laugh when that chin-stroking waif Gideon Haig couldn't contain his lefty socialism when discussing Lloyd William's recent dominance of the Melbourne Cup.

"Hmmm, yessss, the Cup does seem to be losing its 'Everyman Appeal' with it appearing that only tycoons can win it these days... Perhaps a 'Fortune Cap' is in order to bring it back within reach of ordinary Australians again"...

Fkn LOL :joy:

This turd-scrambler says everything so earnestly after a long toke of one of his own farts, it's hard to tell if he is joking sometimes!

Yeah Gideon, it's "The sport of Kings", let's bring a "Fortune Cap" into Australia's 100+ year old premier horse race.

Offsiders would have to be the funniest show on the ABC.

Hahaha nice! I don't know why the majority of lefties don't like Rugby League - it stuns me. It is the mortal enemy of the ultra conservative and elite class Rugby Union and is one of the most inclusive games in the world - and if we are talking just Australia probably represents more communities than any professional sport except probably Football.

10:27am.

Edit:. No women's rlwc mention.

Disappointed there was no mention of the World Rally Championship round.

Rugby Union must be a really popular game outside my presence.

Paedo Whately laughing to himself smugly whilst describing Valentine Holmes' game as 'inspired'.

I'd love for him to get hit by a bus walking out of ABC studios today in his cardigan and sandals. It'll spare the Australian public of his atrocious commentary of the Ashes on Thursday.

Also equestrian got more air time than Rugby League did today.

10:28 “hasn’t attracted the crowds they would have liked”

10:28:43 end
Yet last weekend we had sellouts and an awesome atmosphere at the NZ v TON game they didn't mention the crowds at all, the only time they actually talk about Rugby League is to bag it. Not one of them would have watched a single game either, yet feel qualified to talk about it.

It is very difficult for the NRL to become popular with the ABC because it would take spending money on buttering them up (e.g. maybe invite them to the Dally M awards) and trying to get RL people into positions on shows and on boards etc. Doing the things AFL does.
All of that money would come under "admin costs" which the clubs watch like a hawke because that money could be going to them for spending on their own general wage increases.

Not that anyone requires confirmation but the Offsiders have pretty much confirmed their attitude to RL during this tournament - pathetic, contrary to the ABC charter, AFL sycophantic etc etc.

Media Watch "Nothing to see here"...
