Make that call when our season is ended, NOT after a WHOPPING 7 rounds!

Err, excuse me numbnuts, I made that call when our season ended last year. You have been whinging like an old mole about it ever since!

I take it from above that you would get 'self gratification' if we ambled into the finals on a 50% win/loss ratio. I take it you care not for that fact that you have to suddenly convert that into a 100% win/loss ratio against the best sides to get anywhere?

Clearly, you are at home with mediocrity. Given the content of your posts, what would one expect?

I year for the good old days, when Parra would turn up and belt some premiership aspirant by 30 points. You clearly yearn for a Brian Smith pic, and quite opublic toilet, and a vial of hand lotion.........

atleast jesus has some faith in his team. it's really sh*t how there's so many parra fans so willing, practically eager, to write off the team this early in the season

Have you naysayers looked at where we're sitting on the competition. We're in the top eight, two points off second having played three of the top four teams, having started the season by losing the player every critic said we had to keep on the field. We've blooded a heap of players in first grade already this year which will augur well for the back end of the competition. Now, is the not the time for mutiny!

Now, I thought Smith stuffed royally with his use of the interchange on the weekend and I've given him a bit of roast on my website today, but as far as the year goes, I'm pretty happy with where we're sitting. We lost one game we played well enough to win, in overtime, its far from the end of the world.

I wasnt as upset as i usally am that parra lost. I thought our defence looked 99.9 % better then other games which really impressed me. We had so much more possession and penalties in the 2nd half. We should of capitilised but our attack let us down. Dykes getting tackled on last stuffs us up the ball ends up to vaeliki or someone then the next thing you know we are defending instead of getting a repeat set of 6. I thought tsolous lacked fitness. He couldnt keep up with the pace of the game, he struggled to make the 10 all the time and the tackle he missed which lost us the game perfect example.

there jus keeping it real, its best to be prepared for disapointment the best we can do is have a good final run like 2000 and build on that for next season

Strangley enough, I'm pretty happy with where we are sitting as well.

The problem is we are playing extremely poorly.
We have so much more potential than this, and have done for 7 years now.
For some reason, we just never, ever seem to just quite realise that potential.

And I won't back down on the statement that really, things don't look that much better this year.
We are a disorganised rabble at times, and that frustrates the hell out of me.

Anyone got a tape of the Canberra game.
Go and watch it again and see this.

A few minutes before half time, Canberra run a 5th tackle play attacking our line. Two dummy runners, attacking options outside and an inside pass creates a try. Impressive stuff.

A few minutes after halftime, Same situation, same position, Dykes running across field 15 metres out from the Raiders line................................waiting, ...............................waiting ................
waiting..........oh, he eventually finds someone who half wants the ball and the ball goes to ground.
Absolutely and totally no plan of attack, complete disorganisation and embarressment all round.

I don't know if I can completely blame the players for that. I don't give the Canberra players all the credit for their move.

It is utterly frustrating.

Hey Quarter,

I'm fascinated to know why HJ has any more faith than the rest of us.
Don't you mean passion.

And by the way, "blind" faith doesn't count.

no sui sui, we all have passion. i'd never question that

but faith in the belief we can win it all is only shared by a few here. and you're obviously not one of them. you speak of potential - i've seen us hit our peak before and i see no reason why we can't do it again

Firstly.....love the name.

Secondly, I always have faith in the belief that we can win.
Always have.....always will.
On our day, we can beat anybody.
We just don't show our true potential as often as our true ability promises that we should. And we haven't for 2 and a half years now.
Doesn't that disappoint you as well??

I just don't know why so many people always take the negatives out of every single game. I know we always have to look at the negatives to achieve the positives, but some of u guys are just ridiculous. Always whinging about everything & anything.
I know, as do all of you, that we can play better than we have been playing, but the boys have also done some damn good stuff out on the field.
It's the same after every loss...."Smithy needs to go", "Witty needs a go in 1st's"....etc etc
Some of you seem to think that things like Smithy going or Witty making 1st's will automatically solve any problems we have on the field. Either that, or u just feel u need something to have a whinge about.
I know it's hard to take a loss as close as the one on saturday night...in fact, any loss for that matter, but it'd be fantastic to see the majority of the posters on this board focus on the positives after the games, and not let the negatives overshadow them. (the Bulldogs game is an exception of of course- not many positives out of that one).
We're in 8th position on the ladder....equal 3rd with the Storm, Dragons & Panthers...we're only 7 rounds into the comp....doesn't sound too bad to me.

The only positive I can take out of this season so far is that we have been playing crap................ and winning.

I'd love to feel better about things, but I can't when I see so much talent producing well below their potential week after week.

It just disappoints me.

Misty Bee and all,

You are calling for a change in the coaching staff to rectify the defensive problem. I agree, SACK ROCKET REDDY.

His is the defensive coach and he came on board in 2002.

Mits, he came on board in 2001.

Nice to know you can bring yourself to calling for somone to be sacked. I was never a fan of us signing Rocket (who maimed the Lord God Ray Price in '77, and only Higgsy wanted to belt the prick back).

So who made the massive insensetive blunder (would Pauline Hanson get to coach the Kumuls???) BRIAN SMITH AND DENIS FITZGERALD!!!

Look, I'm happy if having a negative for-and-against and a rare appearance in the 8 is enough for some to retire on, just don't hassle the thinkers who KNOW we should be doing better.

Think about it. We have our hoodoo club, NQ, then a bye. Then games against 2 big guns: Melbourne and St George. We have not the form to match them. We have not improved since Canberra, apart from a minor defensive improvment v Cronulla. While we might expect to be 5-3 on 12 points in a fortnight, if we 7-3 on 16 in a month, THEN I'll say we have turned the corner from the shit form in our last 2 seasons. But we gotta get there first. 3 tough games, with poor form, simply means we have to improve.

Suity, I loved the fractioning you gave Halfy to make him "Quarter" Whittle just a bit more of and we'd have the "5/8" to replace bloody Wagon!!!

I won't mention the Nth Qld game last year then, ok buddy ;-)

You just did. ;-)

I WILL mention that match against Canberra all those eons ago when we were down 22-nil at halftime. The biggest boo-off for the team at half time that I could remember.
I had faith that day and it payed me back.
Difference is, we had the ability back then. ;-)

So your telling me Misty, If we are 7-3 after the dragons game, so beating NQ, Melbourne and the Dragons, where we put in an effort that is enough to beat them all, you will stop bagging out the coach and the club?

Even if we aren’t playing as well as we could be you will stop, even if we only beat them all by 2 points or so like we did Brisbane and Newcastle.

Have I got that straight?

You have to actually win those games first before you can be 7-3. Much, much easier said than actually done.
