Here's the scrapbooks. There are about 40 of these things. They cover Balmain, Parramatta, Canberra and there's ones for rep teams (SOO, Tests) as well.

i now wish i've kept all of my Big League mags and footy cards (and sticker albums) from over the years instead of chucking them away. I've only kept the grand final and annual wrap up editions (aka so-called ''collectors items'') of Big League from the last few years. Not much of an overall collection compared to the main post here. lol

I just found the Scanlens sticker albums from 1984 and 1985. 1985 is missing 8 stickers but has the full collection of foil Bulldogs premiers stickers in the centerfold. There are two 1984 collections which are both about 3/4 full each, but ones that are missing in one are present in the other. My sister and I had one each. Would have made much more sense if we put em all into one.

Ok, we've finally gathered all of the VHS tapes together and I've spent the last two hours making a list of everything.

I picked up a Hauppauge Colossus video capture card today and put together a PC that is dedicated to converting these tapes to digital format. I'm not expecting the quality to be brilliant, as a lot of these tapes are 1) obviously quite old, 2) many were recorded on more than once, 3) a lot of the 80s and 90s games were already transferred from one tape to another to remove the ads, and 4) a lot of the later tapes in the 2000s were recorded in LP format.

Anyway, if you're a Balmain fan, or a fan of rep footy, there's a f**kin' shitload of quality material here. I didn't count the tapes but I would estimate there's at least 250-300 tapes.

Each bullet point represents an individual tape and I haven't bothered to order them (except by year) because it took long enough just to make the list. It's pretty long...

Not really sure at this stage mate. I didn't realise the value of all of the magazines when I started this thread so we'll probably be holding onto those for a while.

I'm happy to share the digital format copies of all of these games once they have been done. I'm no mercenary, but obviously material costs (DVDs, postage) would need to be covered and I wouldn't knock back an appreciative small donation for the time and effort required to do all this (though not strictly necessary.)

It's going to take quite a while to get through all of the tapes, so if you are interested please send me a PM letting me know what you are after.

I'm watching Australia vs Rest of the World from 1988 right now. Big Darrell Eastlake, Jack Gibson, and Mick Cronin on commentary. Graham Ainui from PNG is the ref. Took one tackle after the kickoff for the touchie to run infield to report an innocuous elbow to Meninga's head from Andy Gregory. Great stuff.

Looking forward to converting some of the Kangaroo tour games against club teams. There's one game in there I remember that was just constant fights and had about six or seven players sent off.

Also looking forward to all the Australia v New Zealand games with Brendon Tuuta.

Cool. Like I said, I'm only really interested in covering the basic costs of DVDs and postage. Anything more than that is considered a donation and is completely up to you.

Yeah I had a look at those but I ended up deciding to go the video capture to PC option using a Hauppauge Colossus. It saves fiddling around with DVDs and I've got a NAS device with TBs of disk to store it all on. I use media centers for absolutely everything now (downloaded tv/movies, recorded tv) so I try to avoid DVDs. I end up with a nice central store of everything where I can decide what I want to watch with the click of a remote control button.

The Colossus card also has component input and records up to 1080p so I can also dump all the HD games on Fox Sports from the IQ2 to it as well.

My mum gets all the credit mate. She is an absolute hoarder, though that behaviour was passed on to me.

Difference is she collected stuff that is now worth something, I collected stuff that is worth less than I paid for it.
