can someone explain to me why he isnt the first forward picked...

after this anzac performance he was a wrecking ball, 3 tries and huge metres...

he was by far the most dominate damaging forward in the final weeks of the nrl and should be the first prop picked...

mr bennett you are a joke

Think about his performances for the dogs all year. Think about Webcke being his bitch during SOO.

The bloke should be there!

I agree.

But will Bennett change a winning formula?

Technically it's not a winning formula though is it? a win and a draw isn't a "winning formula", it's just not a 'losing formula' is all.

I agree, he should have been picked from the start.

I thought he was one of the top two props during the NRL this season, the best prop in state of origin and i think there is no reason why he wouldnt have been the top prop in the tri-nations if Bennett gives him an oppurtunity.

And he has turned into a try scoring machine this season.

O'Mealy is like the Sheffield Shield Player that has just scored like a million runs in a season but just can't get a run for the national team. His time will come, no doubt. The other 3 props know the pressure they are under to hold their spot but one will slip sooner or later. The longer he remains out of the team the greater the scrutiny on the other 3 and the stronger his case is for inclusion.

If the side is picked on form then both O'meley and Mason would be starting. How Ryles was picked ahead of him I WILL NEVER KNOW.

If both played for the Broncos they would be shoe-ins. And dont get me started about Tonie Carroll...

O'Meley should be in the team. There is no good reason Bennett can give to keep him out of the team.

The poor guy must wonder what more he needs to do to represent his country.

Ther is one- they haven't lost! Why change a winning side? The ONLY time you would change a winning side is through injury or suspension! :roll:

Or when a better player is available.

So lockyno1, are you saying because Kimmorley was in 2 of the winning ashes last year that if Joey Johns was available for the 3rd he shouldnt be picked because why change a winning side?

Get a grip and stop trying to stand up for bennett!

You will never know because you don't have a clue.

Ryles's selection in the first test was a surprise but since then his form has been excellent and has been the best prop in the team. However Ryles seems to take 10 mins to settle and IMO the team would be better served with O'mealy starting in the first 20mins with Webcke and then bring on Ryles.

Mason's best spot for the team is on the bench and it has absolutley nothing to do with form whether you start on the field or bench. There is no shame whatsoever bneing the best second rower in the world but starting on the bench, its just a sign of the enormous impact he has for the team.

For staters Joey Johns is never availiable at this time anyway, he's injured all the time! But for arguments sake, IF Joey was availaible, he would have been there in the first test, so NO you still would not be changing a winning side! The reality is the O'Meley's omission is working and the players Bennet has picked have done the job so far Rles/Webcke starting and Mason/Civonoceva on the bench! It has the right blend to the side and its working! So as I said if somethong is working you ARE NOT going to change it! Its just the way it is! :roll:

Yet again, you've missed the point, or misread the post or something. It was theoretically speaking that Joey was unavailable for the first 2 games and Kimmorley played and they won, but the 3rd he was available would you still leave out the (what some would call, I wouldnt) worlds greatest player?

Are you asking me or what Wayne will do!

In that situation and I only mean that situation where the greatest player in the game is back then you have to play him!

Knowing Wayne, he probally would find a case for starting with Kimmorley and bringing Johns off the bench!

At the same token, Im not saying O'Meley is the best player in the world, I just think someone with incredible form (Someone that should have been in the first game to begin with) Should be pushed into the side, I thought BK should be dropped because of his illness and maybe just any old excuse to put Shrek in the side

I theory good, but one's a backrower and one's a prop! There is a big difference between the 2 positions!

O'Meley is a good player and will get his chance.

However, this is a team that has not lost a game. The Kangaroos won their last game by 20 points, so its hard to justify to players dropping them considering they are a winning team. Bennett wants to build and maintain team harmony, and to do that you have to show faith and trust in players - they are human beings, not robots. Some of you are suggesting that Webcke is past it, but many younger players look at him with awe - read the tributes from Joel Clinton and Willie Mason. Many of his teammates would baulk at dropping him. Webcke got the MOTM award last week too.

Timmins and Kennedy are both sick with the flu so O'Meley, along with Ryan, might get his chance this weekend.

In any event, the Aussies have FIVE more games to play:
* 2 tests vs GB
* the 3N final.
* test against France
* game against USA

That's a lot of football. Forwards are likely to get injured, so the whole squad will get a run.
