Seems good but I doubt the accuracy of it.

There were definitely clubs in Russia outside Moscow in 2001 for a start.

There also seems to be some places on the new one that are questionable, like Turkey, some of the Scandanavian countries and some of the former Soviet countries.

It's all documented here: http://bit.ly/2aFruoP

Of course it cannot be 100% accurate because at any given time somewhere a club may have just folded or a new one may have sprung up etc. But I think it is very close to accurate, if you see the map, it even shows there exact playing field and has a link to their website, where you can see if the club is still active or not.

I don't know why you'd question the Turkish team, they toured Serbia last month and just had a 9s tournament last weekend.

If you click on each pin on the map, it will tell you. OA means Open Age. If it has junior teams, they are all listed.

Obviously though, very few clubs outside of the UK and France have junior teams

thank you internet and the tireless efforts of the RLEF.

meanwhile, back in Australia, with massive resources at their disposition...

* OK, a lot of the advances in Europe are thanks to the NRL on the internet
** the number of clubs was certainly higher in France in the 30s, 50s, 60s, and 70s

There are definitely some Russian clubs that they have missed. St Petersburg and Kazan are two I can think of straight away. Both played from 91 until around 07 so there has been some selective 'remembering' there.

Still overall the result is true. RL has grown across Europe in terms of the number of different cities and countries playing the sport. Moldova is possibly the only country I can think of in Europe that had teams in the past 20-30 years which haven't come back.
