Is there any statistics guru out there who knows the answer? At a guess I would say the 5th or Sixth. But that's based on the thought that early in the tackle count teams don't like to throw the ball around much, preferring to make use of a continuous stream of hit ups by forwards.

the way every team attacks now it would either be the 3rd of last. pretty much every attacking set in the 20 from every team.

tackle 1 - settle in the center
tackle 2 - settle two wide of the posts
tackle 3 - shift to the open side for a second man play

if doesnt score

tackle 4 - settle two passes back in
tackle 5 - settle one pass either way depending on where you want to kick
tackle 6 - kick

Well a dark horse might be the zero tackle. The number of tries that come of a kick that are first touched by the defending side is pretty high.

Last tackle is probably the answer but I reckon zero tackle would come next.
