Everyone blames Super League, but we're lucky it did happen. Rugby Union and AFL were getting their act together around that time... I think league would be in big trouble if it didn't fully professionalise.

Feel for us here in QLD though ... all we hear about is the Broncos all year long, until the Cowboys make it further then all of a sudden the Cowboys are QLD's team.

If it wasn't for the internet - we don't have pay tv - I doubt I'd hear about any of the other clubs other then who the Broncos play.

Moved up to Bris a month ago and you are right on the money. What makes me piss myself laughing is the regular "Darren Lockyer is the best player in the game" or "Lockyer is one of the best players of all time" etc etc. When I hear that I hope that a) I'm not wearing my Knights jersey/shirt and/or b) Haven't told them that I'm a Knights supporter since they will rave on about Johns straight away. A lot of people up here are horribly biased, which is a shame.

I used to rate a lot of players from QLD teams very highly...but with comments like the above you begin to get sick of them very quickly.

After spending 3 years in Newy, of course there is the same amount of pro-Knights propaganda...it just felt different to up here where i get a feeling of the 'us vs them' mentality a lot. Oh yes and the bandwagonning is terrible, soon as the Broncos are out of something its "GO THE COWBOYS!" and it will probably be "GO THE TITANS" next year. We'll see.

Edit: One other thing - I thought NBN was pretty good at making sure the Knights game of each week got televised...the Broncos game of each week is often televised OVER THE TOP OF the Ch 9 preferred game of the week. Was good when they played the Knights a few weeks ago, but is going to be hard to bear on days when they are playing the Bunnies or the Eels...

I wonder what would the supporters be like if the Knights had joined Super League?

Everyone would have been grovelling to John Ribot instead of Die Fuhrer Ken Arthurson
