fair enough it would seems so.

lets just get on with it everyones getting frantic after round 1 which is understandable.

The eels will bounce back lets just go with it for a few weeks and see where we are then

Jay we could win our next 10 than lose 1 and people will still be slitting their wrists..it is the psychee that is a Parramatta supporter. We just want to win.

MITS, I know where you're coming from, but telling someone to leave because they have a vent after a loss like that is a bit much. By the same token cirque, saying that no greats care about the club is a bit silly. And suity, well, you're just you so I don't need to say anything really

Anyhow, we were rubbish and the coach and players deserve a gobful, first round or not. Still, on the bright side, there are 24 rounds left to go.

No team would have won the game given the amount of possession given to a big, hungry team like the Warriors in the first half. 70% possession will do that every time. What was disappointing was the dumb playts which sem to characterise our team at the start of every season.
Burt played one of his better games, but is not the attacking force that McKinnon provides, but money talks ans he has gone.Lack of penetration from the back row, where they all play the same game is an issue, and when Ben Smith got injured, we had to play witha back rower trying to cover quicker backs out wide.
I am not sure that we can play that type of back row and win anything against the top teams, but until Mits or somerone who was there gives a rundown on the performances in PL then I am not sure who will step up. Lowrie appears run of the mill, and his efforts so far havent done enything to show why we picked him up. Fao'oso was damaging at Gosford but seems to lack lateral movement in defence, and we saw what happens in the line with that after Cannings and the first try.
I don't think anyone could have expected any different playing the Warriors in the first game, their debut in PL and their big forwards having smashed the Bulldogs last trial.
What would we be like if we followed the Panthers or the Raiders. Lets watch with interest what we do in team selection next week, going to be a real test of nerve etc for the staff and fans alike, and we need to give the halves a few weeks to settle in thats for sure.

I was just informing Mits, a person that a lot of people (including I) on this board respect, that he was being as, if not more, emotional and irrational than the person he was criticising.

Any problems?

to be honest with you..there were 4 other teams that played tonight that I honestly believed we could of beaten and I also include Manly in that statement..I thought they were rather ordanary and played a side that just offered nothing in attack and defence.

I'll tell you what Suity, I have had enough of taking the Moral High ground. Firstly you can go and get f**ked as well for implying that I am feeling Pompous and elite for the way I got over here. I could have very well paddled a canoe and stayed in a tent outside of Mount Smart and I would still tell him the same thing.

What he said for the most part was unfounded and emotional. To be honest I was just pointing that out.

Now as you say if he cared as much as I do about this club, he would know the facts of the Matters and not spout the crap he came up with in the thread.

If I am being completely honest with you, and you know me, I am sick of these emotional and irrational debates coming on line immediately after a loss and spouting crap and having people like you call it "Venting". If you need to vent go kick the cat or something (I am sure you will jump on my about what the RSPCA would think) else don't jump on line and try to look like a big shot with a critique of the play. I am pretty sure those that were watching the game know how we played. I am pretty sure the players know what they did and want to play better. But it is the same old same old, Misery Loves Company. Spout spout spout. CEO doesn't like anyone, Ex players don't like the club, Such and Such player is crap and I would rather have another player.

Yes everyone has the right to vent. Everyone has the right of opinion. Blah blah.

I am seriously over people who get the knives out after one game calling for wholesale changes and offering advice when in all reality they have NFI.

Sure, we got bitch slapped in the first 40 mins. Turned the ball over too many times and lost the arm wrestle easy. Any team worth their salary will convert a 70/30 possession into 20 points easy.

When we got an even share of the ball we showed that we had far more points in us than they did.

Not many sides in the NRL are capable of the physicality like the Warriors presented us with last night. Nest week vs the Bunnies will be different.

point is Mark, people rightly or wrongly are entitled to feel the way they do it's the Parramatta supporters psychee to do so, and you of all people should be aware of that but i agree with you about the high moral ground and whether your there or not shouldn't even come into the equation.

btw Suity, you almost insisted that I should be openly scathing on my team last night and yet you accuse Mark of basically telling supporters how they should feel...

well that's the way i see it anyway. ;-)

for me, it wasnt the fact they lost. It was they way they lost

It was the lame, heartless, lacking desire or commitment, ill discipline sh*t they tossed up for the first 40 minutes of the season.

New coach, new year, the chance to go out and make a statement. well, they did that lol

I think everyone is taking things a little too seriously. If it wasn't for the fans there would be no team. Every fan has the right to say anything they like about a performance. I love Parra but they can get me more angry then anyone.

Some people on these forums need to get a life, even though for most of us watching the Eels is a large part of it.

Then why don't you show the same restraint and stop replying with the same emotional rubbish thet you accuse others of?

To be honest, that was the sort of reply I was hoping for. It shows that emotions and passions are running high amongst ALL Eels fans, which is more than I can say for the rubbish we saw dished up on the field last night.

COME ON EELS!!!!!!!!!
