How come when people rate the team they are afraid to tell it like it is?

(BTW, I don't like to live my life bashing the team, but here goes anyway for the point).

A few people have made a 'review' of the performances last night. The common factor? Nobody had the guts (or you are just plain blind) to say that our big name players (Hindy, Caylo and Lyon and Burt) juts straight up SUCKED last night.

None of them did anything worthwile in the first half, and were let down even more by Vella.

I thought the only people who played WELL were Dykes (and this with a powder puff forward pack not giving him ay room, too) and Grothe and Stapleton.

I agree that Cayless, Lyon, Hindy and Burt are all great players.
However, they are not imune to criticism. If you are going to review the team, say it as it is - everyone bar one or two players sucked last night.

And I am just saying it like it is - I am not happy or proud about it. In fact I am WAY pissed off about it.

Its hard to soar like an eagle, when you are surrounded by turkeys.

I disagree - a class act would prevail.

I thought Dykes did really well. Any attacking movements or breaks could be traced directly to him. And Grothe - well he was awesome and everyone else seemed like they couldn't be bothered after the first half.

I believe a class player - a player with TRUE class - NEVER gives up and keeps fighting and trying to lift his mates until the end. Lyon, Burt, Hindy and Cayless simply did not do this.

I wouldn't say Cayless and Hindmarsh sucked. They didn't do anything really wrong (ignoring the sin binning), especially when compared to the others in the side, they should be the leaders, but heck, even the best captains can't save a sinking ship. They did as well as they could in the circumstances, but no matter how much they could have lifted, others put them behind by 24 very early on and no amount of lifting could have brought us back.

Lyon was another story, his positional defense was worse than Chris Walker last night. Now THAT is an insult.

Lyon disapointed me last night, which is something, from memeory he has NEVER done.
from the benefit of watching fox i saw him let in a couple of the early tries. i was in shock!!
here's hoping that he's just starting slow!! 8-[

Lyon was trying to defend two players last night.

a tackling bag would have been more effective then Kativerata in defence.

That is true, he had a total idiot next to him in defence.

Cayless was binned for Professional foul.
After letting similar incidents go all last year, it's our luck they start to police it again this year.

It was a correct call from the ref I'm sorry to say.

I wouldn't blame all of Jamie's defence lapses on Kativerata - from memory they were just clean one on one misses that lead to line breaks.

Kativerata was mostly out on his wing where he was meant to be. If anyone is to blame for overlaps and Jamie having to mark two attackers, it's the guys (ie halves and forwards) inside not doing their job in defence. We were wafer thin in defence all over the park.

Our defence sucked big time. It needs a total overhaul. Do we have some sort of defence coach? We seem to have it all wrong at the moment.
