Think this deserves its own thread
Agree. Its is rare pure cricket is played by the girls.

So who do CA pick for out attack as our batting are locks. Vlaeminck, Wareham join Jonassen and Shutt on the injured list. We have a crop of young, fast pacers to compliment Perry and some handy slow bowlers. Gardner will play and likely Molineux. Who else.

Would have had Haynes in the side, but she has been ruled

Looks like Wareham to debut if she passes fitness test. Is Wellington in the squad?

Sounds like we will have a few debutants. Weather forecast not great first couple of days

Haynes being ruled out of the series with a hamstring injury means Beth Mooney will open the batting, something she did on her Test debut in 2017. If Australia want a specialist batter to replace Haynes, they have Georgia Redmayne in the squad, but the more likely route would appear to be another allrounder. Annabel Sutherland impressed in the last ODI. At least one of Darcie Brown and Stella Campbell is expected to debut while both could play.

Australia (possible): 1 Alyssa Healy (wk), 2 Beth Mooney, 3 Meg Lanning (capt), 4 Ellyse Perry, 5 Tahlia McGrath, 6 Ash Gardner, 7 Annabel Sutherland, 8 Sophie Molineux, 9 Georgia Wareham, 10 Darcie Brown, 11 Stella Campbell

Harmanpreet has been ruled out having not recovered from her thumb injury. That could be a spot for Punam Raut, who played against England, or Yastika Bhatia after an impressive ODI series. India also need to decide on the balance of their side from one of Pooja Vastrakar or Shikha Pandey for a seam-bowling allrounder option, though Vastrakar has fared far better than Pandey with the bat this year. Taniya Bhatia is expected to regain the gloves from Richa Ghosh.

India (possible): 1 Shafali Verma, 2 Smriti Mandhana, 3 Mithali Raj (capt), 4 Punam Raut/Yastika Bhatia, 5 Deepti Sharma, 6 Sneh Rana, 7 Taniya Bhatia (wk), 8 Pooja Vastrakar/Shikha Pandey, 9 Jhulan Goswami, 10 Meghna Singh, 11 Rajeshwari Gayakwad

If Australia want a specialist batter to replace Haynes,
Please do selectors. We have sufficient players that are competent in both disciplines so we need one specialist bat to replace another. I picked Redmayne to bat #5 tho she may be a touch under done. The biggest quandary is who bats #6?

The coach said the pitch will have a generous covering of grass. So will suit the pacers. So expecting if that is the case they wont go in with both slowies, Gardner and Molineux..opening the door for either McGrath, Carey or Sutherland. McGrath is in form so she should get the vote for #6.

Good if she has passed a fitness test then.. as prefer a wristie to a finger spinner. So who of Gardner and Molineux makes way.

Being a D/N test, you dont play two front line spinners I would have thought?

One of Molineux or Wareham is enough IMO.

Then again Perry opens the pace bowling and bats in the top 4, So I guess we can go with the luxury of two spinners

That is the original squad before the injury concerns with Wareham and Vlaeminck.

It is from an article this morning, dated 30/9. So someone was lazy? Or maybe she had withdrawn afterwards?

This is why always good to post the link when you get info from
