I don't think we're in as bad a spot as what the weekend's game indicated. We're better than that (just not every week).
Storm are still the team to beat and unfortunately those rooster merkins will be up there too. Great test for both us and them this weekend. I don't think Smith's injury is as bad as made out... he owned us while injured.

Storm are the 2017 benchmark so far. Not sure about Smith's injury, which would diminish them considerably, but Bellamy has very tight systems to slot a replacement in and let Cronk, etc pick up any creative slack. 2016 GF loss adds extra motivation.

Roosters another threat. Pearce 2017 form makes them a genuine contender. This weekend will be interesting, but still a long way to go 'til October.

Us and Broncos are still the only other serious threats. Broncos are quality, but definitely beatable. We have it in is if we click. Big 'IF'. Segue becomes the catalyst for us now.

Also, you can probably assume he a remote chance to play this week, after having last week off. have you also noticed, that they havent named Brandon Smith as back up for him, despite his very good performance in his 2 appearances.?
Check back in to the otehr thread soon. ;)

I think you're underestimating Manly.

The Broncs and Storm will both be back at full strength come finals time and have substantial finals experience.

Wicked injury the sternum.
Had one from oztag
A bloke took me out late when I wasn't watching.
I had to leave the ground straight away.
No after game beers!!!
I couldn't play for about 4 weeks
Even then it was still rooted.
The worstest part was not be able to sleep.

So let's hope the merkin has a bad one

We are the premiers, every team in the comp is going to step it up a gear to play us. Against a lesser team we may have got away with a win like we have been but Manly are a decent side. I don't know how Bellamy gets the storm up for it mentally every week but Flanno needs to find out.

Bellamy does get his team up each week during the year.

Most if not every year they are top 4. How many of those finishes and mentally tough years translated into premierships???

We all know that we have had years where we have been great all year and then fallen in a heap come semi finals.

Well he must have worsened it because apparently he is out for his 2nd week & has not trained since pre origin.
No queenslander will be taking any chances before the decider.

Nor blues for that matter.

Watch for the famous 5 from shark park to go in soft against the rorts this weekend.

Pearce to do the same and cordner not to play.

I have different thoughts, i think our lads are going to come out all guns blazing this weekend.
Not only because of the way they lost on Sunday but with the bye the week after this is effectively a four point climb up the ladder. It will boost our season mentally.
I could be wrong and we play terrible again but my feelings say we are going to be very strong this week.

Hope you're right Bubby..... crucial game in the context of the season.....win it and be entrenched in the top 4 over the next two weeks....lose it and the teams from 6-10 will be smelling blood.
