as a manly fan i would much rather cronk in my team than the ox.

the reason slater does half the things he does is off a cronk kick.

poor b stewart has all the same attacking flair as slater, but doesn't have that creative half that will put in the perfect chip kick etc...

ox is good, but manly need one of those young entusiastic (cronk/sandow) type halves

i also think ox is injured and hasn't been right for half the season

Judging by recent form they are a massive chance of doing it again this year.

i don't think orford is worth what he is getting paid but at the same time i don't think he is as bad as what people think on this forum.

if orford is as bad as he is being betrayed why is manly 2nd on the table for 2 years in a row and in the top 5 for 3 years. the team is doing this without a recognised 5/8 as well.

Orford was leading the dally m's up until rd 16 or there abouts. he was leading the try assists as per most stats.

he has also played with injury at the back end of every season he has played for manly as well which doesn't help is cause.

i also think cronk is a good player but i don't think he is the top 10 halfbacks of the last 10 years. sterling, langer & stuart would make the top 10.

like i said at the top i don't think orford is worth the $$ he is on but i still think he is a pretty handy halfback.

Orford is all we have and we have to do it with him maybe this years his year. We have no other choice hazler got rid of both travis burns and micheal monaghan and bought 10 centres and 10 hookers. We have no back up halves.

But surely it can't work like that? Origin is an opinion thing, and bellamy would have had a strong impact on the decision and obviously he would want his two premiership bookends over another simialr (but IMO better) player. If orford gets for example 22 votes and cronk gets 17 how can they not give it? theres no opinion involved, just numbers. It seems a little odd. Why even have the awards if you simply give the awards to only players in the top team, even if they weren't the best.

Orford may have been suspended? Its -3 for each week. Or twice and eliminated from the competition? That would be the only way.
