This is my take of the situation:

ASADA did not lay all their cards out on the table in terms of what they had and didn't have. They then had an interview stage where every person of interest had a chance to co-operate, give their side of the story and perhaps explain any mitigating circumstances.

I feel the majority of the persons of interest were advised by their lawyers that ASADA had nothing and ASADA was relying on info from these interviews. As a result I think most persons of interest decided to shut up shop and give nothing thinking they were in the clear.

ASADA saw they were getting nowhere, decided to end the interviews and is now just about ready to hand out charges and infractions (infractions via the NRL).

This is what I think we will see by the end of this working week.

Of course the other possibility is they really do have nothing and all this will go away. But I think you'd have to be very naive to think that is the case.

One way or the other, next 5 days will reveal everything.

So, I'm guessing there will be massive news tomorrow morning Little Peter Rabbit?

I think it is convenient that the club is looking to make a deal occur in the offseason and not railroad their season.

AFL seems to be backing them heavily in that regard.

So if the evidence is all there against Essendon and found out in the next week and they roll over, would they then let the players finish the season and cop their ban at the end? No docking of points this season? No competing for no competition points?

It is all seeming VERY convenient.

I'm not disputing that the AFL might be cooperating more than the NRL and in particular the Sharks.

I would just laugh to high heaven if nothing happens to an AFL team and their penalties are in the offseason and the Sharks had all points stripped, players banned during the season etc.

Would really show which code does rule Australian football.

LOL Doubt it would be like that if it happened next week. I hope the Bombers win the title. Imagine the damage that would do.

What did he do wrong? He was speaking as an ex ASADA chairman but Hadley spoke to him like he was the current one. Hadley was the biggest dick on the panel.

Was embarrassing watching him trying to explain his "blackest day in Australian sport" comment

On what planet? For his many many shortcomings at least he called out Hooper's bullshit articles for what they were.

I don't understand why Hadley started to suck up to Ings near the end of the discussion. It was very strange.

Hooper deserved a smacking.

It seemed to me that Hadley felt sorry for Ings, who looked like he was going to cry.

Hooper is such a dunce. Guy appears to believe he's got a Walkley coming his way. He was just as bad as he was last night on the back page. At least Hadley called him out, unlike Squires etc.

My take on the show last night was that Hadley wasn't to bad. He called out hooper and the overly biased kavanagh report that news ltd keep using. Also Hadley seem to allude to the fact that if the current gov goes and abbot comes in that Ings might be parachuted into the ASADA role to take over from the current piss poor bosses. It did seem that Hadley new something we don't.

This was just how this f**kwit's (Hadley) mind works.

Hadley - condemns the supposed (in the minds of the rednecks) political interference of the current mob (labor) in the investigation but suggests that the new mob (liberals) will interfere with the process to stop or close down the ASADA investigation and finds this type of interference excellent for justice. The guy is a loudmouth goose.

The guy talks about the premise of innocent until proven guilty but hands out guilty verdicts on his radio show on a daily basis with no proof or evidence.

Just a reminder to all the political conspiracy theorists out there; Fahey was the NSW liberal premier and a federal finance minister in the Howard government. So a liberal was sticking it up the NRL.

You were one of, if not the leader of the (ALP/AFL) political conspiracy theorists; but went quite when Fahey (Liberal) got involved and what happened to your claim that WADA would legalise the AFL peptide of choice to get them off the hook?
