f**k off, goose; a poster has a right to post their opinion - whether you, I or Dingles agrees with it. Your claim "Rugby League family" only is censorship - only our opinion is right or can be printed.

You are the one that should be embrassed.

"I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight with my life your right to say it". That sir, is the cornerstone of freedom.

My opinion, DT and their reporters are scum and if they had any morals they would not have sensationalised this part of a 60 page "leaked" internal report.

Oh we are quoting Voltaire and defending freedom

Sorry I had you all wrong

Here I was thinking you were just amusing yourself

Haha. Get over yourself.

Way to miss the point. Now who's trying to censor who?

Putting words into my mouth are also examples of this 'free speech' abuse that you are so keen to defend.

As I said, you embarrass yourself.

The problem I have is with the leak and the invitation in the wording if the report to make thus such a juicy press story

It is smear by stealth carefully engineered and timed

This.

Leading cancer expert Professor Robert Baxter described the link as "tenuous at best".

According to Baxter, children undergoing treatment for leukaemia are occasionally treated with growth hormones to help give them normal growth.

Technically I don't share willows view on press self censorship
I don't think I was saying that at all.

I've never been a fan of the media when they abuse the rights of others.

But quite frankly, I don't know what the answer is.

It seems that if you publish pictures of Duchess Kate's breasts in France, you face legal action. But if you invade the privacy of a grieving family in Sydney and publish innuendo, then it's all fair game. Seems like a gross inequity to me.

The tabloid media personnel in this case are quite possibly rubbing their hands together with glee. 'Job well done... let's party on'. So I doubt all this public pressure will change anything.

Yep. As I said, there was actually a proper story here, buried deep in the article. Presumably they do that in order to say they gave a 'balanced' report. Unfortunately, the seed was already planted in the headline and opening paragraphs.

apology lol

the DT will be back at it again tomorrow

lower than a snakes belly

I fear you are right el although if this was the company I work for and we had got it so absolutely wrong in such a way as to cause further pain to a grieving family the only option would be apologise unconditionally in person to all involved. There would also be a very public retraction

Anything less is totally unacceptable

Lay off him

He is merely defending freedom

By demanding people not charged with a crime to prove their innocence

It is a very important freedom

He's too stupid to understand that.

If according to DT they "did a brief review of available published medical literature" my question is did the person who conducted the review actually have any background in cancer pathology? Or failing that, did they actually consult with leading cancer experts? Judging from these articles it appears not.

The details of the independent review belong to the Sharks and do not fall behind ASADAs wall of secrecy. Even if the Sharks are afraid of ASADAs veiled threats they should just leak the answer to those questions to Fairfax.

I would not be surprised if their "brief review" was just code for "googling" it. There's far too many possibly's in the Daily Telegraph article.

If only the DT was phone tapping to get this information and then suffered the same fate as its UK News Ltd cousin.

Millersnose, willow and typicalfan - classics.

Let me tell you guys a secret, but don't tell anyone else, ok - it is a political conspiracy - Dank (and his fellow travellers - The Gazelle, Charter (sic)) are being framed by the evil ACC and ASADA to win the election for the ALP. No players really have taken any substance more than an aspro.

The highlighted is how the powers that be investigate - re: police etc - Dopey.

Take the conspiracy angle out of it and their viewpoint still stands. The reporter put emphasis on a second opinion over the more qualified first opinion to suit their agenda. Manipulating the truth can be a career ended in other professions but these cowards can hide behind free speech when, if someone does similar, they are the first to use their position to push a witch hunt. I feel bad for journos with integrity, the scum seems to float to the top in that industry.

Freedom of speech is important but those with the loudest voice have a responsibility to speak in the best interests of the public.

Dont forget that this same Tricia Kavanagh is not only responsible for

a) Performing "brief review" in a specialist area she has no expertise in, takes upon herself to make a connection not even cancer specialists make.

but also:

b) Recommending the Sharks sack well respected club & Australian doctor David Givney (among others). He is now suing the club.

She is on a roll. What other damage can her incompetence cause?

Mate, this dispute was over a poster called "MichaelSpeechley' being rubbished because he apparently only joined today and put out some posts that others didn't agreed with and was told he had no right to his opinion. I, like the sucker that I am, stated he had a right to his opinion - freedom of speech.

As for the DT article and the reporters - disgraceful and scum.

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels playing group has released a statement in relation to media reports surrounding Club Captain Tim Mannah, his late brother Jon and Head of Physical Preparation & Performance Trent Elkin.
“In all parts of life there are boundaries, lines in the sand that everyone understands. It is our belief that the Daily Telegraph today crossed that line. To put the Mannah family through what they have in the last 24 hours is an absolute disgrace and those responsible should be ashamed of themselves.”
“We as a playing group will be rallying around Timmy, his family and Trent Elkin. They are our teammates, our family and this will only make our bonds stronger.”
The club will be making no further comment on this matter.

I trust this post is not sailing too close to the wind legally for this site, and I apologise if it does.

Cheers, Loudy.

From the internal club report it is likely that the substances used at Cronulla were - substances such as CJC-1295 and GHRP-6 - now it's a matter of whether these substances were ok, banned outright or banned via the grey zone.
