Indeed. Of all the stuff you see n hear about the first game, I’ve never heard anything before about who reffed it. Until now.

Injury did not end his career. The RFL had a rule referee's had to retire at 50.

He also controlled a Manly v Wests game in 1977 at Brookvale.
