If they put Hazem in all Queensland would have to do is put Inglis or Folau on his wing and put bombs up all night long. There's no way he would've been picked.

And they would have thrown him into the 4th row

Lyon keeps his spot due to goalkicking and that alone
Hazem is too small for Origin and won't be picked so lets just forgot that (even if he does deserve it facts are it won't happen)

So lets say

King moves into his correct position of centre
Grothe onto the wing
Lyon gone

Who kicks goals??

Hayne has done it in lower grades a couple of shots in 1st grade but is hardly as 1st choice kicker?
Kimorrley is too hit and miss for Origin
Fitzgibbon isn't there

I don't like Lyon being picked but his goalkicking means he will be

Bird and Hoffman are good selections both adding a bit of mongrel to the blues pack.

Not sure why Kite got another look in. He was terrible in game 1. O'meley hasn't been in the best form but I guarantee he would fire up more than Kite.

Ryan should have been dropped with Bird or Hoffman moving into lock and Gallen or Farrah should have come onto the bench. A lot of the blues forwards can play long minutes so Farrah would be the preferred option to add more creativity as we know Kimmorley is a very structured player.

Farah selfishly played his way out of a NSW jersey last night didn't deserve it over Bird tbh but Farah may still be 18th man.

King being on the wing will give QLD a big target they targetted the King win last game and came away with 2 tries nearly 3 if Bell held onto the ball. Will do the same in game 2 and could well win because of it

Hurriflatch, any comment you make about Farah should be prefaced by acknowledging your prejudice against lebanese people - something you have evinced in many prebious posts!

Im a parra supporter and i am the first to acknowledge that Farah has been one of, if not THE form playerin the competition!

You just dont want him in the team because he is lebanese you narrow-minded fool!

At the risk of being hammered. King to the centres and Burt on the wing maybe?

Kite(cat) over O'Meley is just a terrible selection, its alright to have mongrel off the bench but the first 20mins of origin are were its essential.

before I saw that squad I actually thought there was a remote possibility Queensland could lose origin 2, not any more

If anything's going to win us this game, it'll be the bench. I'm overjoyed that Bird got in, as I think he's been just about the form forward in the entire NRL. Hoffman's not far behind, and Simpson's been outstanding. If only it were Watmough, Tongue, or Gallen in for Bailey.

Good to see changes in the forwards but kimmorley/anasta as the halves aren't the most intimidating pair.

I'd like to see King in the centres and Lyon on the outer, Don't know who to pick at wing but lyon is aweful in the centres so anyone that is brought in could be better than him.

in saying that i'm confident the maroons can get up 2-0, c'mon maroons!

*edit* a side note on lyon, he was picked for kicking but his last game for the blues was awful he missed some simple kicks (well should be simple for goal kickers) it helped qld think they could come back, 18-6 is better then 20-6
