If it was me, and i was happy with where i was and the club, i would sign straight away!
It's contract year syndrome. It is truly amazing how sports people have great seasons in the year they have to negotiate a new contract (see Todd Lowrie). Why would Jarryd sign straight away when he was confident he would play as well as he has and had a chance to win the Dally M?

He'll test his worth on the open market but I'm confident he'll re-sign here with a decent top-up to his current contract for probably 4 years with heavy boosting from 3rd parties. He and Beavis aren't stupid, they'll strike now for a good pay day, because you never know what'll happen next season, just ask Tim Smith and Adam Ritson

Jarryd will definately need 3rd party contracts, He is now in Superstar class.

I don't know what Parra's track record is in getting their players 3rd patys deals with large companies but they would better start getting a move on and get Jarryd a few deals.

Can't believe people worry about what is going to happen in 2011 and beyond. Worry about 2009, play what is in front of you.

Parra Pete,
Perfect Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

If we only focussed on the rest of this year, future years would suffer!

Why is that, is it because I am a realist?.....Can't believe people worry about what is going to happen in 2011 and beyond. Worry about 2009, play what is in front of you.
Life is not really that complicated..
Ob la di,ob la dah.

Pete,

people don't have your years of life experiences. They'll realize it when they get to your age. :D

I must admit, I've had a easy run so far in my life.

But I know many a 30 y.o. both male and female feel like they are at crossroads in their lives especially with the economic downturn, about finding a life partner, about having children and about their future. For them, whether Hayne signs with Parra is a non-event :p

I love Ossie, but I'm just getting a bit tired of the running commentary of 'he will stay, we're confident' etc. Rather just hear he has signed, tbh lol

you can only talk about what you're asked and at the moment it's definitely a pretty hot topic with the media who are after an inside edge in the story.

the fact that he's popular amongs ALL media outlets speaks volume on the guy.

Pete thinks the guy in front of him is following him.

 Not a strange thing to say at all when applied to Parra Pete. The guy is a relic who is out off step and out of his mind. Paranoia is just another well known symptom of that.

We have companies lining up to become 3rd party sponsors, so that wont be an issue. Everything should fall into place before Nov 1st so a bidding war does not erupt.

Whatever Jess, whatever...Bit silly to worry about things that MIGHT happen.

BUT, I agree with you, with limitations, re PPPPP....If only we could get some other organisations thinking along those lines instead of sending in the cavalry after the massacre has taken place things could be different...;-)

Why, 'paranoia' is it because I have views other than yours? Do you think I have paranoia because I say worry about this year instead of 2011. "

Paranoia? Do you even know what it means?

the fact that he is now a Dally M medal winner plays into his and our hands, Parra will be looking at the NRL to assist with keeping him in league. We do not want to sign him ourselves without trying to get some assitance from the NRL.

This is like a game of poker and all sides wont reveal the hands until the last minute, then we will see who is bluffing.

I get this feeling that the ones doing the bluffing are Ossie, Beavis and Hayne, and their loving it!! ;-)

I am lead to believe that the Eels & Hayne have to put pen to paper on a Contract or at least have signatories to a Heads of Agreement with the player prior to November 1 this year otherwise he has the right to test the market without gaining authority from the eels.

Not bagging anyone but a "line up" is useless.

What I mean is that we can only have $150K through the Club, can't we?

Once beyond that any 3rd party deals need to be negotiated without any inclusion of the Club or anyone associated with the Club. In addition, none of these additional deals can reference the NRL or Parramatta Eels.

Now, if HaHa wants a 3rd party worth, say, $250k per year (wasn't that a figure bandied around?) then it will need to be done purely on her face and name without any reference to anything related to the game or Club.

That's right, isn't it?

Not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, but dementia is a problem that means living in the moment is the only option for some of our older citizens in their twilight years.
