I think overall - our results now are not much better than London - where we bombed out completely. I don't know - we have fantastic swimmers but they don't seem to be able to swim their normal race in finals.

Mentally they are as weak as piss the only two swimmers who have showed a bit of inner merkin is Mack and the young bloke who won the 100m.

Some of their reactions post race are sickening, as i said earlier they get the majority of the funding, all the endorsements and are told how great they are. Our swimmers have failed miserably since Athens.

I've been thinking that. The Campbell chick who was WC and fastest time this year just said that she was happy and left nothing in the pool. Loved racing with her sister. Happy Happy. They need BA as swim coach to find their inner merkin.

Hold on the Kayaker Jess lost her gold because the red suspended post that was swaying in the wind, touched her shoulder as she went upstream in the rapids through the gate and she got a 2 sec penalty. Hardly a choke ?

Yep, i posted this in the Swimming thread in the Olympics thread.

A person i know very well is at his third olympics and is in the Aussie Water Polo team.

They get absolutely no funding, he has had to work his arse off to get back after a really bad injury, with not much help from anyone. Well he has made his third olympics and he bleeds green and gold and i know much it hurts him when they lose and under perform. Unlike the pampered swimmers who get shitlaods of funding and endorsements..

What do we get when they lose??? Awwww we tried our best, please don' thats us. We really don't need gold to be winners lol. What a crock of shit.

Apparently we do our swimming trials 4 months out while the USA and other countries do them a month out. Could be one of the reasons too much time between the trials and the main event.
