Not sure funding is the answer,we need to substantiate the fact that we are spending our current subs correctly which would be hard to prove atm.

We may not know the answer for a while til lit is looked into but I would think heads will roll as a result.

No coincidence that both GB and Japan are doing well. Investment and enthusiasm increase when you get the games.

^^ Getting the feeling these are the most un-co athletes we've ever sent to an olympics... FMD, dislocates a shoulder throwing a javelin. We should probably all be thankful none of our swimmers, divers and water polo players didn't drown....

I believe she had shoulder issues prior to the games. Managed to get through to her last throw.

That little girl Ella did good in the 200m semi. Won't make the final, but 22:50 is not shabby.

Good effort. PB in semi-final. You can't expect anything more. She's shown up a heap of her team mates in other sports who choked.

she just had a shoulder reconstruction and came back into the action prematurely as she didn't want to miss the Olympics.

Very brave maybe but very silly too, she was not ready and her shoulder was not yet healed and now she is paying for it.

She's still a loser no matter which way you cut it.

Who'd be the loser

Selection committee ? Passed medical ? Doesn't seem right if she stopped a fit athlete from attending TBH.

Agree with Gronk, if you aren't 100% you shouldn't be there. Sounds like she wasnt even close to being right.

If she was advised not to go, then just Who The F*#k signed off on letting her go? And let me guess, any medical bills resulting from this injury will be footed by Joe Sixpacks and Eddie Punchclocks like me and the rest of you hard working merkins....

She was never able to train at 100% so it was a gamble to see how strong the shoulder reco was.I'd say the only 100% throw happened just then Rio.

Big gamble, she was a medal chance at 100% fitness before she did the shoulder last summer
