Gee terrible news, he was a brilliant, funny and talented bloke.

He will be missed by plenty.

Insomnia.
One Hour Photo.
Good Will Hunting.
Awakenings.

Those were his best performances in my opinion. He played an awesome creepy villain in both Insomnia and One Hour Photo.

And Hook is a bit of a guilty pleasure.

When I was about 8, and Mork and Mindy was first on TV, I used to go to school and regurgitate Mork's lines. Unfortunately, I misheard one of them "You expect to me eat this slop!" and recited it as "You expect me to eat this s**t!" at school (I had no idea what 's**t' meant). Went down a treat in 3rd class. Makes me wince still. Got a letter sent home to my parents and all.

Insomnia one of my fav movies. His performance in One hour Photo was chilling.

Hook, Jumanji, Mrs Doubtfire, Toys, Aladdin - some of the best movies of my childhood.

Depression doesn't discriminate.

I liked him in The Fisher King, but not much else. I just didn't really like his style of humour much. Very sad that you'd be in such a state that taking your own life seemed like the best option.

Birdcage was another classic too. Devastating to think of a world without him in it. Did a lot of charity work too, often donating his proceeds from stand up.

Few people know that he got his break in movies through his former stand up comedy partner Jimmy Jones. While visiting Jones on the set of the first Star Wars film, Williams' zany antics convinced George Lucas to offer him the role of Jar Jar Binks.

Jones obviously went on to become James Earl Jones.

Glad someone mentioned The Fisher King, that was a pretty good flick.

Got a lot of laughs out of Robin Williams through my childhood, Mork and Mindy onwards into film. Sad day.
