In the end result wise, that and the draw here against Japan were the only. Before it started I thought we needed to win all our home games, win in Thailand, another away win and another away result. In the end we didn't even need the extra away win. Convert either of those 2 draws into a win and we're qualified

I respect what Ange has tried to do with playing style but I think he's more suited to a technical director or going back to youth coach. I think the coach needs to be a bit more adaptable

Our backs still come up with some boneheaded plays.

Maybe I'm being harsh, but I'm not a big fan of Kruse - he has displayed a tendency of just passing to nobody, and giving away possession with insipid crosses.

He's quick, and that's it, imo.

Trouble is, we don't really have anyone else we can count on.

Tension between Aloisi and Bosnich, and I have to say, I agree with Bosnich - Postecoglou has lost his way, and the players don't seem to be responding to Ange like they used to.

We try to pass into goals because we don't have the Messiesque types who can just dribble past 3 players at pace and open up the attackers. That said we're not David Caruso in that respect with other "better" countries. Cough England

It's true. It's all well and good to learn teamwork and the basics and shit like that but we don't have the football culture in Australia to allow kids to learn the kind of close control the world stars all have. How many times do you reckon Messi lost the ball trying to be a fancypants growing up? Thousands and thousands I reckon. If he'd grown up in Australia he'd have been abused out of the game for being a ball hog.

My sister's kid was scoring three goals every week for his under 9s (or whatever) division one team a few years ago. He got dropped to the division two team the next year for being a ball hog. It probably didn't help that my sister's advice was "f**k those merkins. Now you can score six goals every week." Anyway he plays basketball now.
