It was the league cup final, not a particularly prestigious trophy, and they were running 7th in the league. So a better analogy would be like if we were in the final of some midweek cup while also looking like missing the NRL finals.

And coaching has f**k all impact in any given game. The benefits of coaching are in the day to day grind that creates the conditions for winning matches, not in the individual matches themselves. This is why it’s stupid to claim a win was due to good coaching or a loss was the coach’s fault. As though they were good coaches on the days their team won but suddenly shit when they lost.

Is there a current or former NRL coach you could point to as an example of the point you're making here?

luckily we got up so we're still in Europa

there is so much support for Ange, not just the fans but even the pundits, everyone putting the blame fairly and squarely on our CEO Levy, he is so heavily invested in the club that it is his cash cow. He's the highest paid EPL CEO (6 mill a year, he structured his own wage and bonus package and the board supports it as they are well paid as well too), we have the highest match entry fees in the PL and the lowest revenue to wages ratio in the PL. We are not a poor club. We make a lot of money from our stadium with about 6 NFL games a year and entertainment events.

Spurs are a business for Levy, not a sports club. Success for him is not winning a cup, it is UCL qualification as that adds about 20-30 million to the bottom line. We'll never win anything with Levy in charge as he wont invest in the squad and getting him out is like getting Putin out of Russia.

So frustrating being a Spurs fan.

Yeah but who cares about Europa. It's like that other cup (not the fa cup) It used to be called the carling cup. Nobody cared about it.

A good coach is able to get in his players minds and inspire them you twit. Yes we know there is nothing amazing tactically with Bennet for example but players love him. He inspires them and they want to win for him. See this is what a great coach can do. He is their life mentor. Compare it to a coach who thinks hiding a freaking players gym back is how you bond with players.

They haven't won much for him these past 14 years.
