Nice. So that gets rid of Indonesia...

And I know we're not locked into qualifying yet - but for us not to get to the World Cup finals, we have to lose to the Saudis by... is it 10 minus however much they beat Bahrain?

We only have to lose by 5 less 1 for every 2 they beat Bahrain by. And they need to beat Bahrain.

So for us to not qualify from here will be 1997 vs Iran level

Ah yes. They couldn't beat them at home, so if Saudis get a win over Bahrain it's likely only 1-0. And that will bring Saudis' total goals to only 5 from nine matches... so really no chance of knocking us out of the qualifying place.

My math was bit off. Should’ve been every 2 goals after the winning goal they won by. Moot now they beat Bahrain by 2, so if they beat us by 5 then they qualify and we go to 4th round

Beating us by 5 is a big ask... too big an ask for the Saudis.

Our defence at the back stood up against Japan (B team), even despite the amount of ball they had in our half all night.

I was fully expecting Bahrain to “fall apart” and let in 10 goals.
Anyway we should only have to wait another 5 days to celebrate qualification alongside the other mighty teams to qualify such as Canada, Uzbekistan, Jordan and New Zealand

Africa as it sometimes does is throwing up some fascinating standings

DRC is currently leading Senegal and Togo.
Saffas leading group isn’t huge surprise but Nigeria being 4th behind Rwanda & Benin is.
Cape Verde narrowly ahead of Cameroon.
And with expanded finals we’ll see some new faces like Gabon or Namibia.

And New Caledonia get a spot at intercontinental playoffs. It’s not home-and-away series though so no Uruguay travelling to Noumea.

How many countries have qualified that Trump has banned.

Will be interesting how FIFA play it if Trump & US won't allow some countries to enter. the US

I saw Iran mentioned as one last night.

Well for what it’s worth at moment the ban includes exemption for people involved with World Cup (& Olympics). But I’m sure “countries will come to me… begging… please let us play in my World Cup. They say it’s going to be the best World Cup. Everyone says so.”
