Totally agree.
Hence the "mythical".
The press run with this sort of crap so they can keep writing the same story each anniversary to fill articles.
They are clearly in much better shape than they were before his time in role.
Love him or loathe him, any club would benefit from someone of his standing and ability in their employ...
Fair point, but I am getting a little tired of the old " re-building" phase talk.
Of course, as you say, having a 5 year or even a 10 year plan ( key word being "plan" ), but there should be zero years virtually written off. Its a cop out for boards, and coaches.
Also, in terms of and Penrith, his plan involved a great deal more than on field performance. It was a heavy investment in behind the scenes of some 20 plus million dollars for their centre of excellence.
From 2016 article below
THE multi-million dollar, “state of the art” Panthers Rugby League Academy was officially opened yesterday.
“Five years ago this was nothing more than a dream,” the club’s executive general manager of rugby league Phil Gould said.
“Three years ago it was just sketches on pieces of paper (and) today it is a reality,” Gould said.
Built on a site of about 40,000sq m by Brookfield Multiplex, the centre was finished three months early and met the $22 million budget, funded by the Panthers Group.
Made to help train and educate senior and junior teams, players can now use its variety of assets.
Gould said the world-class facility had put “Penrith on the map” as a truly professional club, and as well as inspire younger generations, it would raise the bar of players’ performances.

We cant afford to pay out a coach let alone provide modern day facilities. Even Bennett was quoted as saying " lucky i didn't visit the facilities before I agreed "...
