Merkins dressed in white cricket gear have started hanging around parks down the road from my house. Think they might be cricketing.

Might have to get my dogs down there to lay a couple of cables on the pitch.

Not too many other options really, luckily for us Starc and Smudger are in some decent form, although I reckon this is the best chance the kiwis have of beating us since the Paddles era.

hopefully Sids in 12th man

Thank god shaun marsh didnt get picked. His 32 and had enough chances will always be good for 1 good innings in every 8 plays. But in the other 7 he barely does anything and unlike his brother he doesnt bowl.

Burns should never have been dropped for Darsh last summer anyway, he made a few 50s and did OK

I was pretty surprised when they dropped him for Darsh for the Ashes

Selectors leave out Siddle and i reckon they will have picked in best side in i don't know how long. Bancroft hadn't done enough and Darsh is a joke.

Happy enough to see Joe Burns get another chance in the XI, but I don't reckon he's an opener tbh. I hope he does well there because I think it would be a shame if he had a lean trot V NZ and then got dropped from the team never to return because selectors saw him as an opener only.

Eventually they should be looking for Burns to take Voges' spot down the order and bring in this Bancroft kid if they're serious about generational change in the team

So who else opens with Warner ?

We have a vacancy for an opener and he opens for Qld.

I'd play Carters before Bancroft.

He has something like 8 tons in his last 12 first class games including a double ton against the Kiwis the other day.

??? You sure you've got the right bloke?

He only has 5 first class centuries (including the other day) from 31 matches, and hadn't passed 40 in his previous 4 FC matches.

Klinger probably has the recent record that you describe.

Lol.

He thinks because he uses the team nicknames for the players that people think he is in the test team.

He's never been right about anything I've ever read in the cricket forum.

Embarrassingly biased to nsw players.

Hopefully Khawaja and Burns can do well and establish themselves. Voges needs to step up this summer

I think Bancroft is the future, but he is only 21 , he will get his go

Im not sold on Carters just yet solely as a batsman. Might be an good option if Neville gets injured

The problem is he hasn't kept for ages so if Neville got injured then I think they would opt for a specialist keeper, which excludes Wade, lol.

Carters did well at the to of the order for NSW last season and he is similar to Bucky in that he will never be an ODI player and he is steady.

I think if Burns can hold his spot against the Kiwis he will keep the openers spot for a while as I cant see the Windies scarring too many batsman. HE should never have been dropped after last summer as Darsh did jackshit as expected. Then we would only be talking about promoting Burns from middle order to opener which is easier than coming into the team as an opener.
