Strange comment no matter what the intentions.I posted it.
And I wasn't trying to be funny.

My comment was how easy batsman have it these days, flat wickets, massive bats and the bowlers aren't quite what they were a couple of decades ago. It had nothing to do with player safety. And on the anniversary of Phil Hughes death I didn't think it was a comment needed to be said.I know your original comment was just a joke, but I was just pointing out that sometimes it's in everyone's best interests to increase safety for batsmen.

We were talking about wether the red ball was able to be used at night, and I said it is harder to pick up then the pink, yellow or even orange. I said it was and he said they should toughen up and I agreed with him. The game is all about the batsman these days you only have to look at the wickets they play on. Then you mentioned Phil Hughes which was IMO comment and especially on what day it was. I took it as a tasteless joke and would have no matter when you made it.Your comment stemmed from a discussion about whether or not a pink ball should be used (which it is partly because of player safety).
Strider made a joke that the batsmen should toughen up, and you reiterated saying that batsmen have it too easy. I just wanted to remind what happens when we take safety out of the equation.
I don't see why it matters that it is the anniversary of Hughes' death. If I made the comment two weeks ago would it be ok?
Agree with how long it took. It's upset the kiwi's and getting us back in the game a bit.
Mission accomplished then, although Dirk Nannes didn't agree, no doubt he will get plenty more media coverage today.
Haze was great last night and Siddle was at the other end of the spectrum.
Interesting to see how Voges and both Marsh boys have no idea how to bat on a green top, they bat at the WACA all their professional career and looked completely lost when on a pitch that suits the bowlers. We are doing this to ourselves and its about time we start to prepare proper cricket pitches.

Well....if you ignore the 5 seasons Voges has played for Notinghamshire, 2 for Middlesex an 1 for Hampshire, and all the away Shield games, I guess that's true.
The Marsh family, bunch of overrated plodders.
Vale Gerry MarshCan't believe you would post such a horrible thing on the anniversary of uncle Gerry Marsh's death.
Credit to Sean Darsh played a good knock under pressure.
Good win especially when our best bowler only got to bowl 9 overs in the match.
Pattinson doesn't seem to be quite ready this time round. But I guess he's taken a few wickets. Going to be a tough call for the next test. As it's in Hobart, they might just pick Fekete for the hell of it, and play Pattinson on Boxing Day.
