Billy aint really a selector and Patto was 12th man in Adelaide so he must be in the mix but Patto was outbowled by Boland who got 9 wickets at about 8.0 for the Vics yesterday which is a pretty decent effort.

Dont know if anyone heard the interview with Billy in the cricket show but he was saying how they look for bowlers who can bowl at 140ks min to get into the Aussie team, Patto fits that bill.

Yes the above Grandstand interview def says Patterson if/when he's fit. He bowled in shield yesterday/today IIRC.

He said that if they get further injuries that NCN was next cab off the rank.

So does Fekete. And he plays for Tasmania at the moment, and they have a habit of making (at least squad-level) selections conveniently.

No.

I don't blame them as it was a pretty significant decision at the time in terms of the situation the match was in.
In saying that, this was ONE bad decision in a thousand. I don't want to see anything change as it stands. I think cricket has got it pretty right with a cross between technology and human decisions.

They're well within their rights to ask for an enquiry, but I actually don't think it was that bad a decision. If the side-on hotspot camera angle had actually included the point of impact things would have been much easier. If we are going only overturn decisions when the 3rd ump is certain that he has evidence that the original decisions is wrong, then, in the absence of any movement on snicko and a crucial hotspot angle, it is understandable.

And the fact that Lyon went on to score runs is neither here nor there. The Kiwis contributed massively to the costliness of the decision with their own captaincy and field placements.

It was a poor decision no doubt about it, but it was given not out on the field.

But it was against a number 11 batsman, the Kiwis bowling and captaincy from the time of that decision was disgraceful. Nice way to deflect blame from their own poor efforts. Wrong decisions have been happening by umpires since the game has been created and it will continue to happen as long as the game is played.

I agree mate. Just wouldn't call them sooks.
I repsect the Kiwis. They're good blokes, and for a small country, they punch above their weight.
I respect them, therefore, I respect their opinions.
Don't forget that it'll take them a century to get over the most embarrassing day in our countries sporting history. I don't blame them either.

He'd go OK I reckon and he's in some decent form, Bird could also be a chance.

Yeh, Bird would play if Hazlewood was unavailable I suspect, Fekete for a bit of zip and reverse swing.

Real bastard that Cummins is unavailable. He was seriously quick in the ODIs in England.

yeh, I think he is a few months away yet, he has serious pace

love to see Starc, Haze, Pattinson and Cummins as our attack, just rotate those 4 for the next 5 or 6 years and we have a decent attack

I reckon Chris Cairns must have engaged OJ's defense team

Did he get off? From what I'd read and seen and the witnesses against him ojs lawyers wouldn't have had a hope of getting him off. Maybe he fixed the court case

Chris Cairns has been moved to tears, speaking of his relief at being found not guilty after an eight-week London trial over match-fixing allegations.
The former New Zealand cricket captain was cleared of a perjury charge, and both he and his co-accused, Andrew Fitch-Holland, were found not guilty of perverting the course of justice.
