Yes but we know that diet plays a major role in physical development. Surely much more than autism. Not in every case perhaps but I know what I'd bet on. And I am not blaming her for anything, just pointing out what I believe the effects of her diet are. Absolutely the parents are largely to blame.

To be fair you did call her stunted and mentally unstable, which in her case is largely genetic. Perhaps criticism was the wrong word.

I just think it's the wrong target for the point you're making, given the known factors.

To be fair, and while I agree with lol @ vegans, autism can and certainly does stunt growth and development physically as well as mentally.

The poor kid is a pawn for sure. But I'm not keen on the idea of calling her "stunted and mentally unstable" based on a genetic condition any more than I'm keen on the idea of her being used the way she is.

I ate plenty of meat and I didn't reach 170cm. I wasn't over 60kgs untill I was almost 30.

It is certainly not unusual for a child diagnosed in her early teens as being on the Autism Spectrum, not to continue their studies or perhaps to defer them until such time that the learns the skills to be less distracted and maintain focus.

Aspergers syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD and selective mutism does not bode well for a traditional education. Having said that, none of the above impacts on an individual’s IQ. There are some very famous people who have achieved great things notwithstanding their position on the spectrum. Um Mozart, Einstein, Thomas Jefferson, Steve Jobs, Stanley Kubrick, Isaac Newton.

All the same, by all means continue being triggered by a little girl.

Thanks Gronk, I will continue to comment on public figures with spurious credentials. This child is less qualified even than Donald Trump, and people who revere her need to be reminded how stupid they are. I'm happy to be triggered by this phenomenon.

I think she has gain more media momentum from her contrarians than from her supporters. If they all STFU and ignored her, she would hardly be such a household name. She has been given a platform because of her notoriety with the haters.

Same goes for the two kids who were involved in the Parkland school shooting. They only gained traction because boomers were tilted by kids telling them what to do. Then the Fox crew started referring to them as paid actors. Their media attention eventually died down because of the inevitability of zero change of their guns laws.

Young people are finding a voice and learning how to find a platform. Boomers need to learn to deal with it. Their opinions are just as valid as anyone’s.

She is just as entitled to criticise policy as you are. When you do, we are not seeking a job, outspoken merkins are merely seeking that individuals elected by the people do the right thing according to their values. Nothing here has changed, young suffragettes did the same thing.



She is just as entitled to seek a platform as a climate change activist and as any 16yo from Rockhampton or Newcastke who may hold the view that supporting a fossil fuel industry is fine bc it provides her community with security and that CC is a hoax.

My (surrogate? I dunno, unrelated by blood) niece is autistic and I think it's pretty low to use that sort of language or to try and make some silly point about how inferior her diet is when there are more impactful, known factors present.

It might even be that she is one of many people on the spectrum who has grown up with a related eating disorder or eating problem. Certainly my little niece is dealing with that. She will not eat certain things, or at certain times, or if certain people are or aren't there. She will also not eat if she's had a bad day.

I believe it's all detracting from her as a mouthpiece. This is evidenced by her former supporters now pushing the ignore-her-and-she'll-go-away line. They're now embarrassed by her.
