I reckon you're getting ever closer there to the original source of that amalgamated graph, which of course you posted because you actually believe it makes some kind of point.

The original source is Tony Heller, and I've known that since well before I posted the graph.

But, like I said, the amalgamated graph's source is irrelevant if both graphs are legitimate.

But, quick, try to find some way to disregard it so you don't have to accept the implications.

It is bucketing down in Sydney.
This weather is completely out of the ordinary. Climate change is in full swing and we have proof with percipitation.

HJ you have been proven wrong by mother nature.

Actually, extreme weather events are on the decline globally. Minimum temperatures are rising, and maximum temperatures are decreasing - meaning variability is decreasing. Nature has stablilised the climate over the past century, not the other way around.

You'll get outliers, of course, and Australia has always been a prime candidate for these things, but globally everything is smoothing out and becoming more stable.

I don't know if any of that is true but people are definitely more likely to freak out at disasters now. There are two reasons for this: there are now cameras everywhere, and the means to transmit video around the world. Plus everyone is moving to coastal cities, where when shit goes wrong it goes very wrong.

There's plenty of evidence weather events are more intense.

It's an interesting point re climate science. The modeling relied in for so long showed an increase in serious weather events, which is demonstrably untrue so far... But the events we have are certainly more serious more often.

I don’t know. There seems to be more hysteria when we get a weather event thanks to news, social media and everyone having a camera/video on them at all times.
This weekend there has been hysteria about gale force winds rain and huge seas. The media love talking shit up. The reality is that it has been wet with moderate winds and stormy surf but not overly big. A typical trough pattern but the media went bananas over it.
