So you don't consider Foxtel TV?
Nope. It’s always been cable or streaming across the world and always pay for view.

TV is free to air.

The way that murdoch sells its pay for view content is changing for sure. Set top boxes are a thing of the past and even satellite dishes, overtaken by broadband. Here they have broken up and rebranded Foxtel and sell it at Binge, Kayo or Flash. Same same.

Ok, well I still consider Foxtel through a box still TV. I get all the Free to Air through the same box, the same way.

Streaming I consider different.

Not really.
Further to flood mitigation raising the dam wall, Sydney's population in 2050 is projected to be 8 million +.

The raising of the dam wall project was not only to prevent floods but to ensure Sydney's water supply for an ever increasing population.
I'll be dead by then and won't need to worry about turning on a tap and wondering whether water will come out of it.
My kids however............?

The water availability is important, but raising the wall as a mitigation strategy and then continuing to develop flood plain is sheer lunacy.

No matter how high they build it, it will inevitably overtop, when it does throwing in more development in the path of the water creates an even greater disaster. It's f**king madness.

Lowering the capacity at which they begin to let out more water whilst it may be as effective as raising the wall would be in terms of mitigation, is almost as daft, you're effectively making it a smaller dam, which in drought periods has shown it isn't really big enough.

Obviously increasing capacity and a prohibition on building in the flood plain is the most practical solution. That of course just sounds to simple to be able to work.

It's also a case of the incoming government painting the status quo as bad as they can make it. Lowers the benchmark against which their performance is judged. New CEOs do the same thing all the time.

Nothing will beat Hockey refunding the RBA to the tune of 8 Billion that they said they didn't need, then blaming Labor for the subsequent rise in the budget deficit.

Ukraine fighting the smart war. Drone technology.
Russia just throwing under resourced masses at the war, and suffering massive losses.
No wonder they are making no headway.

The following video is not for the faint hearted.
So sad to see the devastation /scorched earth.

PVL has been wasting his time with the stadiums with the NSW government.

Should have just gone and pestered Albo instead.

What a absolute joke another kick in the guts to RL in this country.

AFL already getting a leg up with the Gabba for the Olympics and now this.

Tasmania always gets what it wants, it's the most pork barrelled place on earth.

The Federal Government aren't contributing towards the Gabba.

I know the Tasmaniacs have been wanting an AFL team for ages now but its always been unfeasible which is why its never been done prior.

Even if the Feds kick in for the stadium I cant see a team in Tassie being anything but a financial liability to the AFL as it simply doesn't have the population to support it and a very small talent pool.

Back in the day, didn't they get their Sheffield Shield points massaged by a formula? Or am I dreaming ?

Maybe you were dreaming Gronk as I don't recall such shenanigans. Tassie shield team doesn't have that many Tassie players in it, Silk would be one of their best batsmen and he's a Bluebag

They rely on players from other states to make up the numbers and they'll do the same in the AFL. When I lived in Vic they had 1 reputable player in the AFl that I can remember, they'll flop imo.

Gronk is half correct. For the first few years of admission to the Shield, TAS only played each other team once, whereas all the mainland teams played each other twice. So Tassie's point score was scaled up by 9/5ths (or similar).

The NRL are probably considering that model, where the Storm, Roosters and Souths only have to play half the amount of games as everyone else.

Oh, and the Broncos play every match at Suncorp every Friday night.
